President Obama is splintering America. The passage of Obamacare was a historic victory for liberal governance. Yet, its true cost may be that it triggers the eventual breakup of the country.

Hope you mean L.A. and not LA. LA is solidly red.
You know, listening to him that would be a generous statement...
I dont think so. I think this is a smaller muslim-marxist rogue action. I believe he was a wild card from day one.
Do you have a single original thought in your head or is everything a bad movie quote?
No need to get your dander up. It was just a friendly explanation.
>>You’re gonna have to forcefully move a bunch of them out of Atlanta!!! I’m just sayin......
Maybe in town. OTP (Outside The Perimeter) is another story.
Too many are making this an urban-rural issue. The fault lines, the real front lines of any conflict, should one come to pass, will be at the amorphous urban-suburban boundary.
TM, on that note, do you have a recommended historical reading list for some of the modern conflicts of this nature?
I'm not at all sure the state boundaries would be inviolable in any sort of serious unpleasantness.
>>How do you want your capitalism? Under the control of the elite of centralized government under the guise of Communism or to the individual by way of free enterprise?
Actually, that’s more the Fascist economic model. I’d highly recommend Jonah Goldberg’s Liberal Fascism for a better understanding of Fascism, Socialism, and how they have historically controlled economic systems to control their countries.
This sandbox has been infested with cat turds...
In my opinion, we need a split. How can we have a “homeland” with folks that constantly fight for taking our Rights away?
Just call one of these ‘freak-shows’ what they are, you'll see what rights are left. We can't play nice, no longer.

Every library has dozens of excellent books about the Russian, Spanish, Lebanese and Bosnian/Balkan civil wars. The link above is to “Seasons In Hell” about ethnic cleansing in Bosnia. I strongly recommend it. But it requires a strong stomach to read.
That red-blue county map shows why an American CW would be Bosnia X 100. Very, very messy and ugly. No convenient north-south split this time.
I’ve read a couple on the Spanish Civil War. Orwell’s Homage to Catalonia should be required H.S. reading. It is a quick read and well illustrates the morals of the Left.
I will likely pick up Seasons in Hell, and was just wondering if you could perhaps identify a few more out of the dozens, especially concerning the latter two.
Brilliant essay, and thought provoking.
It’s not alrmism anymore. The governed are NOT giving their consent, and , as in years like 1775 and 1860 in America, decisions will have to be made as to where one stands.
He nailed that one too.
Yes, I agree with your comment--that sentence jumped out at me also.
Hey, don’t forget Sussex County Delaware—we’re red as they come. We’re the southernmost county in the state. The Delmarva peninsula is pretty conservative also.
Hell yeah!
I read your post about how long it might take to get a government up and running. Fortunately, others have been thinking about that also:

I thought the Communists in the Soviet Union had a monopoly on the capital during their reign.
The Soviet gov’t explicitly owned everything. The Fascists left the illusion of private ownership of business while in reality maintaining control of it, largely by regulatory fiat.
In truth the concept of private property is not allowed by Fascists, Communists, or other Leftist-conrolled governments. They government controls the capital not the individual.
The point I am trying to make is that capitalism exists under the Right or the Left. With the Left the government has control of the capital or government-controlled capitalism. With the Right the individual controls the capital which is also known as free enterprise capitalism.
The colony at Jamestown started as a collective agricultural settlement where the state (in this case the Crown) owned the land with the profits going to the state. Everyone was paid equally for their labor regardless of how productive or lazy they were.
William Bradford saw the result of this being poor harvests. He changed the economic model from one of state-controlled capitalism to free enterprise capitalism by letting people own their own tracts of land and letting them be as productive with it as they decided to be. The result was better harvests.
Today we have the Leftists working steadily to convert our country from what made it successful with free enterprise capitalism back to state-controlled capitalism.
