“The bitter debate over Obamacare has exposed the country’s profound divisions. We are no longer one nation or one people. Rather, there are now two Americas: one conservative, the other liberal. Increasingly, we no longer just disagree but we despise each other. “
WOW! This is so true. I have found people that I have had relationships for years, knowing we disagreed politically, but still had a good relationship. I’ve seen posts about they’ve blocked someone who was a “tea bagger” because they were hesitant about Obamacare. I know I certainly feel a hatred that I am uncomfortable with when seeing these morons being all estatic over something they obviously have no freaking clue about.
I didn’t see this much hatred on both sides about the Iraq war. It seems there is no warm, only extreme joy at this “imperfect, but thank God for Obama!!!” monstrosity or utter fear and dread.
Friendships have ended, families have spit up, it’s bad.
Yes it is happening. I had a 20 year friendship end over it last year. My own sisters and I are in serious disagreement now.
I have an inkling now how the first Civil War tore families apart.
