Thanks for posting this most-excellent article.

In a morbid way, it is fascinating to watch how the programs FDR created metastasized into this cancer killing our nation. LBJ’s huge expansion of what FDR created put us on the road to ruin and it was accelerated by many Republican presidents the past 40 years.

As Kuhner says, we now have two factions that absolutely despise each other. Far worse, we put one of the those factions in charge of educating our children which is accelerating our demise. It would appear we are in a positive feedback loop now where each new federal giveaway is adding huge numbers to the parasite class which vote Dem and lead to more federal freebies being extracted from the sweat of the fewer and fewer remaining workers.

Kuhner’s analogy to the 1830s and 1840s, the prelude to the Civil War, is very apt. It would seem there is no way out of this dilemma and we are headed for a final crack-up.

Karl Marx theorized that capitalism would eventually fail because the capitalist class would keep seeking to extract more and more surplus wealth from the workers, eventually finding nothing left to extract. The great irony is that this is exactly what is going to happen with socialism: The parasitic socialist class keeps trying to extract more and more taxes from the productive capitalists, and they are increasingly finding that there is little left to extract. Atlas will shrug.
