We were there. I don’t know how to count heads in crowds like that so I will give you an eye witness report.

We waited in line on Hiway 95 for an hour before we could turn off onto the property. The traffic was backed up from Searchlight and from the other direction from Vegas. After we turned off onto the dirt road, we waited in line for another 50 minutes.

I left the car to find a bathroom, since we were almost to the gate by this time. My husband waited in line to park the car.

When I returned, he said the car in front of us and all the way back had to turn around since they had no parking places left, we would have to park out on the hiway.

We made our way back to 95 and there were cars parked along both sides of the road and out in the desert almost all the way back to Searchlight. That was over 2 miles back to town and then the walk in from the hiway.
We knew we’d never make it back in time so we listened to Sarah Palin’s speech on FoxNews on our XM radio.

I would love to have been there and seen her in person, but honestly, you couldn’t get anywhere close to that stage.
I am sure there were more than 7,000 people.

They were expecting 10,000 people, I think they had figured out the parking for that many and ran out of space.
Well, that’s my account of the day.

I am happy we went, next time we will take the RV and spend the night and be on site the day before. It was good to see so many people who are sick and tired of what is happening to our country.

Oh, btw, I gave the volunteer who was directing traffic the signs I had made so he could give them to someone who made it inside the gate.

Thanks for the eyewitness report. Sounds more like TENS of thousands, which would jibe perfectly with MSNBC’s “7,000” report.
