“When the Israeli prime minister stalled, Mr Obama rose from his seat declaring: “I’m going to the residential wing to have dinner with Michelle and the girls.”
Not sure why this scenario is “impossible.” The event in question occurred last Tuesday night. True, Obama literally could not have actually had dinner with them, but the key to the story is what he SAID. Given the extraordinary and persistent lies Obama was willing to tell the American public about health care reform (reduces the deficit, bends the cost curve, doesn’t raise taxes “one dime” for those below $250K), it’s not at all implausible that he told a whopper to Netanyahu. No doubt the Israelis would subsequently learn that Michelle and the girls were still in NYC, at which point the INTENDED diplomatic slight would be amplified considerably. At that point it would be clear that Obama had so little respect for Netanyahu, he was willing to flagrantly lie to his face. I think this was deliberate.
Think about it this way. Why would Israelis plant a so obviously false story? At the time this was leaked to UK reporters, no one in the Israeli diplomatic team would have been privy to the exact schedule of Michelle and the girls. It was well-publicized that they’d seen Broadway shows on Sunday and Monday night, but for all they knew, Air Force One had flown them home late that afternoon in time for dinner with president etc.
Thus, while it would have been very dicey to MAKE UP a story about them returning Tuesday night in time for Obama to deliver this slight, it seems far more plausible that the leaker was accurately leaking what actually was said by Obama, evidently not realizing at the time it was a lie (since that would have made the story even more explosive and would have been a natural detail to include if the whole purpose was to make Obama look bad). In short, the fact that he COULDN’T have had dinner with his family actually lends credibility to this leaked account. But only because we are dealing with a known liar-in-chief.
The NY Post reported that Barry’s girls were still in NY on vacation on Tuesday night.

All we know is that he left the meeting and that the Israelis decided not to use the WH phones, since they record what is being said.
The meeting must have been extremely heated.
