DC Tea Party April 15th...Who Is Going?
Vanity ^ | March 28, 2010 | Wpin

Posted on 03/28/2010 11:57:39 AM PDT by Wpin

I am wondering who is going to the April 15th Tea Party in Washington DC. I have not seen much info on it yet, but did hear a hint on Fox News last night.

I have a fairly good number of people willing to go, but do not want to go if there isn't going to be thousands there. Not with the first timers coming along.

Interesting thing...most of the new protesters are college kids! And, I know that at least half of them were/are democrats who are outraged at the health care bill passed!

If anyone has info on this protest and if they think it will be fairly large please let me know.

I’m not, already been there three times.

The jackass in the Whitehouse could careless. I’m going to a local tea party.

You can count on a good turnout. Every DC event (and I've been to all of them) have been attended by large, enthusiastic crowds. Even the mini-event at Taft Park in the week preceding last weekend's rally was good.

I really wish that young people will start showing up in big numbers. They are the ones whose futures are getting screwed. It would be interesting to see the media trying to spin this.

My sister & I are thinking about it. With the send off yesterday getting so much attention I think more will start considering it, too....

“I’m not, already been there three times.

Your decision, and I can certainly understand it (and thanks for all you have done so far). But I am going for one reason: right now, the conventional wisdom is that the dems won’t suffer much in November, and that the anger will dissipate. This is wrong, but it is very important that the less-radical dems and the spineless subset of Republicans understand that this conventional wisdom is wrong.

My fear is that if they sense that this conventional wisdom is true, they are going to view Obamacare as yesterday’s news, that they will dismiss out of hand all opposition, and, most worrisome, be more likely to support initiatives like amnesty, VAT, cap and trade: any one of which would probably doom this country to becoming Europe version 2.0.

They may not have listened before, but it is largely because they didn’t understand it, and saw it as a fleeting “temper tantrum”. If we stand firm, then they will start listening.

I was there for the September 12th March On Washington which was spectacular! And there the weekend before last, which was disappointing to me.

I will probably go anyway, but am concerned about bringing first time young people along if it will not be well attended...

Four of us driving up from Georgia. Also, know of at least one bus from the Savannah area.

I think it WILL be well attended; not as large as 9/12 because it’s on a weekday....but I think there will be a very respectable crowd.

You have a point there. Our neighboring Tea Party group is hosting one in Flemington, NJ. We said that our Tea Party group would attend. Both groups went down to DC last Saturday together.

Our group is also hosting a rally on 4-10, in our County Seat.

We are trying to keep the fire going on the local level.

I heard a lot of people talking about 4/15 last weekend so that may be an indication of a good turnout. However, this is an evening event so not sure how that will work out.

My wife and I attended the last D.C. Tea Party, and will attend this one. I hope we can all try to bring some people of color , who are Conservative. This was one glaring problem at the last one. My wife, who is Oriental said as we got into our car at Union Station, “I only saw two Black people all day, and they were both selling something!”

I’m going. I had already signed up and then found out that our local tea party group was having a local rally as well. I’m a little torn, but since I’ve already paid for Washington, I’m going to go.

Glenn Beck was pushing this event several months ago. I think just with his endorsement alone, that should bring in a good number.

Always take video cameras to provide proof of everything the Socialists try to pull.

And this is a good way to get young people to go. Give them the filming duties.

The jackass in the Whitehouse could careless.

Very true, and I'm sure by now a lot of people realize this. At this point it's clear marches on D.C. have little to no effect on the Rats in power, it'll be little else than another feel good event.
