I’d like to think that too. Unfortunately, 40 years of reading history has thoroughly destroyed my illusions.
Great intelligence can often lead, by an obvious process, to arrogance and contempt for those of lower intelligence and the evils that flow from such an attitude.
In addition, intelligence provides of itself no defense against the desires and lusts that lead to all other types of evils.
I have never seen any evidence whatsoever that intelligent people are less likely to commit evil acts.
Less likely to get caught, perhaps. :)
