If Bibi won the Republican nomination for President in 2012, would Jewish-Americans give the Republican Party a majority of their votes for the first time in history? Or is their loyalty to the Democratic Party too strong?

In 2004, when I first heard of Barry Soetoro, I considered it far more likely that Netanyahu would be US President today, than Barry. The future is very unpredictable, and you should not write off this idea as being crazy.

Here is Bibi's Wikipedia entry: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Benjamin_Netanyahu

That would depend on Bibi's stance on abortion and homo marriage. If he were a strong advocate for both of these sick practices, they'd vote for him despite the (R) in front of his name.

Maybe.

I would suspect that up to 80% would vote for The Great I Am.
But this is one American that would vote for Netanyahu over Obama. Hell, I would probably vote for Netanyahu over most Republicans that will be running.
Why? I think Netanyahu is an honest man and I don't think that can be said for most American politicians. Maybe 1%-5%

Good question, and well timed. Personally, I'd vote for Bibi in a heart beat.

I forwarded the question to a good friend who is a Conservative (vs. Orthodox or Reformed) and suggested it might spark some interesting conversation at his family's Passover Seder tonight.

The loyalty to the Democrat Party is too strong. American Jews are an enigma. Especially the ones serving in the Obama Administration.

Bibi Netanyahu would make an excellent President, unfortunately is not a natural born citizen.

I think Bibi would get at least a third of the Jewish vote. Could go higher if da Incompetent One keeps sucking up to our enemies and flipping the bird to our friends.

It’s one thing when my fellow Jews stupidly fail to vote for a Republican whose positions are far more consistent with their interests than those of the RAT candidate. When the candidate is actually Jewish they will be more receptive. Human nature.

without a doubt American Jewish voters would go to obama...78%

But then the same ones would vote for anyone with a D after the name.

New York Jews have voted Republican for mayor in 1993, 1997, 2001, 2005, and 2009. In 1997 Giuliani won the vote against Jewish Democrat Ruth Messinger. In 2001 the election was between two lapsed Jews and Jews voted for the Republican.
