AT&T better be careful or Bammy will try to break em up again.
Little history here for you youngens: The gubment broke up AT&T,in about 1984, into several regional “bell’s”. Southwestern Bell, PAC Bell, Bell South, etc....
Then a guy named ED Whitacre took over the company about 17 or 18 years ago and he tried to re-assemble the whole thing.
He almost did it too. He now runs GM.
Can't say we were not warned:
ssshhh, if they shut the companies up, their losses won’t coccur!
Or those losses won’t be noticed by shareholders, employees, retireee, and clients.
A crisis ignored or denied is not a a crisis, in this administration
BTW, would I love to give a toad like Henry Waxman a “RSVP” to his imperial summons ......
I disagree. I hope that Waxman calls dozens and dozens of companies in for public hearings. And they show up. The more the better. Bring in the CFO's and accountants. And let them talk about fiscal and financial reality. The idiot Waxman won't understand what they say but most people will.
That quote should have horrified every constitution loving American.
Woe be us for our reckless madness!
Not only that, but we've had a recent Supreme Court decision that effectively affirms that corporations have rights under the First Amendment.
If I recall, a business is legally obligated to report pending risks to their viability by the SEC. Failure to do so can be charged as artifically dressing the books for shareholders present and future. The companies have no choice (legally, which is a concept the WH does not understand)
With due respect to you sir I disagree. Congress has no right to pull this crap. It is time to start saying no to them. That will make much larger statement.
The hearings will be held on April 21, 2010, in Stupak’s Subcommittee on Oversight and Investigations. Membership:
The CEO’s have to do this, it is right and ethical for company’s to report honestly their costs and profits. The WH is acting like a 2 year old having a tantrum. I’m truly sick of this.
“I think when you spread the wealth around it’s good for everybody.”
-Sen. Barack Hussein Obama
That won't work, if they say no they get their clocks cleaned by the lap dog media. And, most of the dummies out there will assume that what the administration says is true.
I really think that the best bet is for them to go to the meetings and tell Waxman what's what. Cite chapter and verse what the law is.
I think of Flash Gordon when I see Obama. Ming the Merciless about humanity: “Let’s just say they’ll be satisfied with LESS”
Hussein can spread around the $350,000 his wookie wife “earned” when she “worked” for the hospital in Chicago as “diversity” director.
Is this not the same government who effectively sacked Ken Lewis for NOT reporting the crap condition of Merrill Lynch when it was forced down his throat? Of course, that was after they threatened to see that he and the entire board of Bank of America would be sacked if he DID report the crap condition of Merrill Lynch.
These pinheads infesting our nation's house will stop at nothing to reach their desired ends.
That’s what doing drugs will do to you.... It will make you think that Obamacare will be cheaper, faster, and better than what we have now.
Go back to your bong Barack.
so are they trying to Silence the people...I did no know that freedom of speech was no longer part of the country...silly me
That means hide it in a footnote somewhere.
What is Obama and the Congress smoking when they say health care costs will go down? Even the most naive and mentally challenged know if you make health care more available someone’s costs will go up. If you lower the patient’s cost, you must be increasing the cost of the caregiver by lowering his or her’s fee. Any cost savings are illusory and are merely shifting costs from one individual to another. Obama is lying and everyone will end up paying for his lies one way or another except for the perennial moochers.
That will happen in either case. Damned if you do and damned if you don't. I prefer don't.
