This epitomizes the problem with the Washington GOP. They're always willing to throw someone under the bus, always on defense, always backing up. They acted exactly the same way when they had control of both houses.
It's way past time for conservatives to say, "ENOUGH. You're not going to use crap like this to bully us into silence again." WAY past time. This kind of crap is EXACTLY how the left managed to pull off a successful 40-year coup.
