CIA: Iran capable of producing nukes
Washington Times ^ | March 30, 2010 | Bill Gertz

Iran is poised to begin producing nuclear weapons after its uranium program expansion in 2009, even though it has had problems with thousands of its centrifuges, according to a newly released CIA report.

"Iran continues to develop a range of capabilities that could be applied to producing nuclear weapons, if a decision is made to do so," the annual report to Congress states.

A U.S. official involved in countering weapons proliferation said the Iranians are "keeping the door open to the possibility of building a nuclear weapon."

Israel has been saying for years that Iran is very close to nuclear capability.

The US "intelligence agencies" kept saying that Iran is many years away from developing nuclear capability. I guess they finally woke up, too late.

I am shocked, simply shocked!

shocked

Oh, wait, no, I'm not. Those of us with half a brain - at least - have known this would be the result sooner rather than later for quite some time now.

Don’t worry. Obama wants to cut our stockpile so the number of nukes in this world will still be in decline.

That’s his solution.

As late as Aug 2009, here is what the US “intelligence agencies” were saying:

IRAN: Nuclear Capability After 2013, Says U.S.

WASHINGTON, Aug 7, 2009 (IPS) - Iran is unlikely to be able to produce the highly enriched uranium (HEU) necessary for a nuclear weapon until at least 2013, according to a U.S. government intelligence estimate made public Thursday.

The estimate, which sets a notably later date for Iran’s acquisition of a nuclear capability than other claims that have recently been circulated in the media, was prepared by the U.S. State Department’s Bureau of Intelligence and Research (INR). Director of National Intelligence (DNI) Dennis Blair submitted it in written testimony to the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence in February.

Oh, nukes are “so last year.” We’re getting rid of all ours and so are the Russians. People just don’t make war like they used to anymore, and all you wind up doing is maintaining them and cleaning them and moving them. The kids don’t want them — they’re too much work. It’s just not worth the trouble when all they do is collect dust.

"Keeping the door open to the possibility"?? Iran has been focused on building nuclear weapons for decades.

pretty big news - Israel has been saying for a long time that Iran is “close” to being able to develop nukes. Now the CIA is saying they “can”/as in present tense . . .

The people of the world have known this for some time.....as does our government. The government just tries to convince our people different to further their agenda. The question is “What is their agenda?” I ask this question to find the real “agenda”.....not just guesses. Why would our President not stop Iran? What would he have to gain by letting Iran develop a Nuke?

Goodbye New York City, goodbye Washington D.C.

Maybe we should change the name of Washington to Washington B.S.

Or has that always been it’s name?

Obama to Iran: U.S. offer of dialogue still stands

http://www.reuters.com/article/idUSTRE62J09R20100323

President Barack Obama renewed his administration’s offer of dialogue and diplomacy with Tehran on Saturday, a year after his offer of a new beginning with Iran failed to achieve concrete results.

In the meantime I am listening to FoxNews, they are saying that the CIA report also says Iran knows how to weaponize and put into missiles chemical and biological weapons.
