McCain and Palin: Reunited and Feeling Good ("I support his position on immigration")
Fox News ^ | 2010-03-27

(snip)

VAN SUSTEREN: Governor Palin, if you were vice president today, what would you be telling a President McCain about what to do about immigration, if anything?

PALIN: I support his position on immigration. It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions, the Obama administration does not want to listen to Senator McCain or any other Republican, and that, of course, leads to a greater problem that we have in Washington, D.C. And it's that lack of the new administration's ability and enthusiasm for listening to those on the other side of the aisle who have some good solutions that they want considered.

“You just never quit, do you Rabs? Nice try, but I can read the ‘whole’ thing.”

The ‘whole’ thing is at the link provided.

Here’s some....even worse comments by Palin...John McCain...a ‘man of his word’...give me a break.

“PALIN: Senator McCain is a man of his word. And I think what we could have counted on and looked forward to was the transparency that John also talked about in the campaign that’s so necessary in order to build more faith into our government. Constituents right now are feeling so disenfranchised and disenchanted because of the lack of transparency that the Obama administration has ushered in. John wouldn’t have done that.”

It’s not Rabs words that should worry you, it’s Sarah Palin’s.

The REAl John McCain.

Palin: It all comes down to securing the border.

Palin: McCain proposed some solutions...

I'm not commenting on Palin's communication skills. I'm saying in this case, her "thought" is not an endorsement of McCain's entire immigration stance.

Another genius ploy by the very cerebral Sarah? If you think her lust for McCain is simply a repayment of debt, you are very simple. She is nothing more than a double talking politician and because of it she will never be our nominee. Sorry folks but you have hitched your wagon to the wrong horse.

VAN SUSTEREN: So how do you secure the border, Senator, because everyone keeps saying we need to secure the border? Do we build a big wall like they did — like the — you know, they did in East Europe? What do we do?

MCCAIN: Well, we need to have surveillance capabilities. An attempt that they were making just collapsed. The contractor failed miserably. But we need to do a lot more surveillance. And we could use a lot more high-tech. But to have the drug cartels’ violence spill over into the United States of America is a real possibility.

Since she wholeheartedley endorsed his amnesty plan last year, your argument holds no water.

When Palin says directly she supports amnesty of illegals then we can talk...and I will agree or if she says she supports Graham-Schumer.

she is in a hard spot...she can’t dump him without looking like a witch

Do you think she know his position on immigration?

It all comes down to securing the border.

She should have added the word “current,” but that would have defeated the purpose of being there. “I support his CURRENT ...”

I think she already has come out for amnesty. I don’t know how you can interpret her support of McCain now that she’s no longer a vp candidate.

Some sort of immigration law reform is worthy of consideration. But “the problem” will not be solved by securing the border. Palin doesn’t appear to be the right person to lead the GOP. Her instincts are to mimic whatever McCain says. Hello! You’re not running on the McCain ticket anymore!

In the article, you highlighted: “I support his position on immigration.”

But you did not highlight: “It all comes down to securing the border. And he who has actually proposed some solutions...”

All I’m saying is Palin further qualified that statement which isn’t exactly an endorsement of McCain’s position on immigration as a whole.

Well, nice try, but you’re ducking the question. I started to get very suspicious when she backed McCain vs. Hayworth. That’s a no brainer, and the answer is NOT McCain. But this comment is pretty clear that in fact she supports his amnesty program. I don’t now how else you can read that.

Oh pleeeeeze....did she, or did she not say....”I support his position on IMMIGRATION”?

McCain’s position on immigration is clear. Read SB2611.

Huh? What better time to say, "Senator McCain and I agree on securing the border. We strongly disagree over what should happen to the 12 million illegals already here."

It's real simple, and someone with either a) principles, or b) courage would have said that . . . unless she really doesn't believe it, which I think is the case.
