Yes it is all a bit overwhelming but running multiple threads would be a bit overwhelming too.
The reason we like a single chart (really two in this case) is because of the nature of political fund raising in the Internet era. These days you can contribute small amounts of money to any candidate you choose with a few clicks of your mouse and a handy credit card number. And for most of us giving money to our own Congressman/Congresswoman is a waste of time - most seats are SAFE-R or SAFE-D. So having a chart like we are developing, with click-able links to the websites of our favorite House candidates makes it very easy to spend your money (or your time) wisely in this election cycle. Why give it to the RNC when you can give it to some guy/gal in New York or Mississippi or wherever who needs to be put over the top to get us one more R vote in the House and one less D vote. That's what we are trying to do.
And also, by making sure that as many people as possible understand that putting their money or time into races that are either not-winnable or that are in the bag for the Republican is not a good strategy. The money needs to go to the competitive districts, particularly those where we have a strong conservative on the ticket. That's why we are limiting our list to "Vulnerable Democrats".
i guess my reasoning is that I am reluctant to write long comments about something in the northeast if the readers are from all over .... the chart isn’t what I was commenting on... just throwing comments on 100+ seats all into one thread. just an different opinion, don’t mean to criticize.
dj,
you’re the expert on all this ... what’s it all mean?
