Tory Party UK: RIP (Cameron Funds New Zeros)

For David Cameron "there is such a thing as society, it's just not the same thing as the state" and today he and eleven other shadow cabinet ministers are setting out what the society agenda means at a one day conference. The Tory leader's own speech to the conference can be read here.

The following new policies have been announced at the Conference (CCHQ's words, not mine):

"“Neighbourhood army” of 5,000 full-time, professional community organisers who will be trained with the skills they need to identify local community leaders, bring communities together, help people start their own neighbourhood groups, and give communities the help they need to take control and tackle their problems. This plan is directly based on the successful community organising movement established by Saul Alinsky in the United States and has successfully trained generations of community organisers, including President Obama.

A Big Society Bank, funded from unclaimed bank assets, which will leverage private sector investment to provide hundreds of millions of pounds of new finance for neighbourhood groups, charities, social enterprises and other non-governmental bodies.

Neighbourhood grants for the UK’s poorest areas to encourage people to come together to form neighbourhood groups and support social enterprises and charities in these poorest areas.

Transforming the civil service into a ‘civic service’ by making regular community service a key element in civil servant staff appraisals.

Launching an annual national ‘Big Society Day’ to celebrate the work of neighbourhood groups and encourage more people to take part in social action projects. Providing new funding to support the next generation of social entrepreneurs, and helping successful social enterprises to expand and succeed."

Is this the final nail in the coffin? If I was one of Her Majesty's subjects I would now pull the lever for the UKIP.

As an American and as a watcher of UK politics.
Damn this is a totally “wet” Conservative Party, calling a tory wet, is like calling them a RINO. I wonder when Ann Widdecombe will tell Dave he’s full of crap.

I know European parties are not as right winged as the Republican Party, but they could eliminate the allinksy crap and still be successful. I think the Tories will not get the majority in GE 2010.

Britain used to have “neighbourhood groups” called families and churches.

I recall the ‘Tory’ leader strings lead first to his leftist wife - who admitted she never and never would vote for him.

Reminds me of that planted female Rino candidate in the senatorial election ..Dede Scozzafava - chosen by the top GOP Planners to be a contender..... didn't register that her big strong husband is a left wing union labor activist? nah.

The biggest expense for both the modern progressive republican and democrat these days are: A nice big alibi!

Stupak is as Stupak does......

A Tory is just a socialist who wears a shirt and tie. They’re the same in Canada. Their motto is “We do Big Government better”. Our so-called “conservative” party has been in power for 4 years and has only managed to increase spending every year at a horrendous rate, and that includes the three years it was in power before the stock market crash.

The UKIP should replace the so-called Conservative Party. The former is far more in line with what Churchill and Thatcher stood for. In what was once a surefire win for the Tories, Labour will now come back and beat the CP, and it’s mostly Cameron’s fault. If he runs like a Labourite, then Brits will vote for the real Labour candidate.

I am a British citizen (subject is something else) and I fully intend to vote UKIP, providing they stand in my town.

If UKIP is going to make any headway they have GOT to become something other than a one issue party. Its not enough to be against the European union, right though that is. They will need to engage on every part of the political agenda.
