"I'm pretty upset, this guy is a class 3 and his crime was rape. What can I do?"

Don't forget, you get to pay for his Viagra too.

I would investigate this “neighbor” a little more thoroughly. Go to the clerk and retrieve the probable cause affidavit. Actually see what the guy did before over reacting.
Laws were put in place about 5 years ago due to a moral panic(Brucia and Lundsford in Fl).
It was a total over reaction on the govts part. You have a right to know, but you have an obligation to find out who this character is.

3 sex offender, crime rape? Picture’s of his young kid in the tub? his kid on a bear skin rug? Caught peeing behind a tree near a school ground?

Don't forget the Level 4s. They're the ones civilly committed.

However, you need to be extra careful if you live in a "sex-offender-free zone." Those zones are where parents will let down their guard the most, thus they make the best "target-rich zones" for any offender seeking a victim.

This guy has about a 65% chance of becominga REPEAT OFFENDER within three years.

This becomes reason #5349 for carrying a gun at all times.

Lady working behind the counter at the Washington State DMV told me that if they accepted debit cards, they’d have to tack on an extra $4.25 to my relicensing fee of $25.00.

As such, they were just looking out for me.

File this under, “We don’t make the laws, we just get told what bullshit to feed you when you are mad enough to ask us about the laws, and stupid enough to think you are going to get a straight answer out of us.”

What about calling the state Attorney General's office and posing the question to them?

Is there open carry in your state. If so, put all women and children under armed escort. That might get the scabby politicians attention.

Print the guy’s name, address and picture and hang it on every stop sign in the neighborhood.

Contact the DA’s office yourself if you don’t trust the person on the phone to follow up. Law Enforcment aren’t lawyers and frequently do NOT know the laws they are supposed to enforce.

Also they generally aren’t allowed to make policy decisions, so don’t have the power to really do anything except take the information and free up the phone line.
