The Roman Catholic Church is becoming more and more dear to me as it is attacked again and again.

Is it a coincidence that this happens at the time taxpayer-funded abortion is an issue again. Who is standing stalwartly against it, and has led the charge opposing abortion in every century? The Roman Catholic Church.

In my Methodist Church and in the Presbyterian Church, 2 churches also dear to me, the news of the week is of the nice liberals within it who either support abortion or gay marriage or any other liberal cause. The desire is to attack the growing Calvinism and the growing evangelicalism in mainline Protestantism.

Again, Satan is attacking conservative Christians in whatever denomination and trying to rout them.

I guarantee that within a fortnight we’ll hear of “evangelicals” outed regarding paedophilia, homosexuality, theft, greed, or any other number of abuses.

Fire away. I have on my flame-retardant, Servetus suit.

As I mentioned to a few Catholics the other day it astonishes me that there are FReepers who have never trusted the NYT about anything, but are fully prepared to accept anything negative the NYT (and the rest of the MSM) says about the Catholic Church.

The left desires to destroy ALL of orthodox Christianity, because of its size they realize that they MUST destroy the Catholic Church and that is what they are working toward. Our Lord promised that the gates of Hell would not prevail against His Church, but He never said it would be easy.

I agree entirely. The leftists/secularists/homosexual agenda pushers want to destroy the Catholic Church because it refuses to change its position on moral absolutes. And they will start attacking any other religious denominations that don’t embrace immorality; so far they’ve been destroying many Protestant denominations from within.

The Roman Catholic Church is becoming more and more dear to me as it is attacked again and again.

Just like with Joseph and his brothers, the world may wish evil on the RCC for its own nefarious purposes, but the Lord means for this convicting light to be good.

My enemy's enemy is not always my friend.

If it took Obama's vile HC to facilitate the truth to come out about the papacy, so be it.

However a more realistic way to look at this situation is that much of the media has been complicit in keeping a lid on this scandal for decades.

But watch and see. This, too, will evaporate. And very little will change.

This is nothing new. Those who wish to live a godly life will face persecution. Christians and (true)Christianity has always faced attacks.

That being said, Christians also are fully capable of self inflicted wounds. We can't feel sorry for ourselves when the world attacks us for when we have evil in our mist. We are told in the scriptures that we are to set an example and be set apart.

Your pity is misplaced.
