Obama's Approval Rating Hits New Low
CBS ^

Posted on 04/02/2010 10:21:30 AM PDT by Chet 99

Last week, President Obama signed historic health care reform legislation into law -- but his legislative success doesn't seem to have helped his image with the American public.

The latest CBS News Poll, conducted between March 29 and April 1, found Americans unhappier than ever with Mr. Obama's handling of health care - and still worried about the state of the economy.

President Obama's overall job approval rating has fallen to an all-time low of 44 percent, down five points from late March, just before the health bill's passage in the House of Representatives. It's down 24 points since his all-time high last April. Forty-one percent of those polled said they disapproved of the president's performance.

He made the decision to do so sparingly, it was called the new tone, and it failed miserably helping lead to his (and the Republicans) popular demise.

It was a miscalcuunderestimation of his political foes.

I tell you, Lakeshark, it was based on his principles regarding the dignity of the office and the importance of continuing to BE the President.

Working with Dems had happened in Texas and he thought it should work in DC. Obviously, he was wrong, because he underestimated the vicious, evil nature of his opponents, but he did what he did because he thought it was right.

I don't fault anyone for behaving according to his own principles. Never will.

Christian first, politician second. I still like that. And I will always admire George W. Bush because he lives what he believes. He will be rewarded for it when the rewards actually count.

I liked Reagan's communication as a president much better, he continued to use the presidency to educate people and it worked. He didn't do the nassty partisan stuff that Bambi does, yet he communicated his vision. GW Bush was the opposite, and it left a void in the public square that the lefties drove several trucks through.

It may have been an honest, principled mistake, but it was still a mistake.

My point remains that living acccording to one's principles is never a "mistake."

And comparisons to Reagan don't mean much. They are two different people, and Reagan obviously didn't feel the same way about defending himself personally.

I know that Rove thinks it was a mistake not to have Bush defend himself, but I'm guessing (don't know) that Bush wouldn't have done it even if Rove had pushed it.

I repeat....he lives as he believes. Faith first, family next, politics a distant third. And I'm quite sure he doesn't regret it.

44% where, Greenwich Village? At my work, I couldn’t find 10 0bama voters out of the 100 in the building. The 0bama/Biden stickers on the 3-4 cars that carried them before the election have long disappeared.

Worse than Carter.

A LOT worse than Carter ever was. Wait until the employment numbers drop once the census is over. They're the only jobs out there.
Right after the midterms, health insurance rates are going to go up by @ 30% because of pre-existing payaments for people who never donated to the pool.

We’ll see in November. This will also depend on how much voter fraud they can get away with...or if they can get away with canceling elections indefinitely.

It is said, Kennedy won on the buying of Irish votes in Boston (wasn't it?).

Both Boston(and Mass.in general) and Chicago.

In 1952, to defeat incumbent Republican Henry Cabot Lodge for the U.S. Senate, Kennedy's daddy handed out so much money to buy him the senate seat, twenty dollar bills were called "Kennedy campaign buttons"

But it was election fraud in Chicago and West Virginia(Mob and Union miner thugs ) which cheated Nixon out of the 1960 election.

My fear is that he won’t need to rig the elections; rather, one of this creepy, stuttering dictator’s next projects will be to do away with term limits. Since he uses the Constitution as toilet paper for him and Michelle, he probably thinks he can alter anything he wants.

We have a new law passed which says that when approval hits 20%. OFF WITH HIS HEAD!

Harry Reid attached it to the health care bill.

Yeah well, we live in a racist, redneck country where people don’t like foreigners that don’t look or speak like them.

Have you been to a DMV office or some other government office lately? Look around. You will see a lot of card-carrying Obama supporters.

This was in the comment section on the CBS site. LOL!!!

“barry X, the abandoned b a s t a r d of an illicit union between a deranged, teen aged, communist w h o r e and malcolm X, has his instructions from london to permanently destroy America and her economy via debt, euthanize the greatest generation, demoralize her military via homosexuality and exhaust it in a wild goose chase in the “graveyard of empires”, and disarm it via fiat. He does hate America, especially White America, and does love his works of treason and destruction. It is through this that all his actions may be understood.

I hope the military honors their oaths, steps up and eliminates this a s s h o l e. This son of a w h o r e is the walking definition of a “domestic enemy” and we won’t sit still anymore for his treason.

NEVER EVER forget the mainstream media that conspired to foist this muslim nation wrecking b a s t a r d on America is responsible. They intentionally sold us this traitor.

The democratic soviet is comprised of 22% of the population (blacks, jews, queers, transgenders, communists, and abortionists) An amalgam of misfits tied together by nothing more than malevolent envy and hate for Natural Law.

This man is actively destroying an America he was raised to hate, is supported by communists in the media and must be neutralized for the good of all.

It should be considered that barry soetoro is a communist or muslim plant groomed to completely destroy America from within.”
