Jail for man who broke into woman's home to frame husband for child porn -Stalker planted child porn

A man has been sent to prison after he attempted to force his way into a female colleague’s life by breaking into her house and framing her husband for downloading child pornography.

Ilkka Karttunen, who was born in Finland, became obsessed by a co-worker and hoped that he could forge a relationship with her if he could break up her marriage, jurors at Basildon Crown Court were told.

He sneaked into her home in Southend, Essex, while she and her family were asleep and used the family computer to download images of children being abused, the jury was told.

Kartunnen, 48, who denied charges of harrassment, perverting the course of justice and making indecent images of children between December 2008 and March 2009, then stole the computer’s hard drive and sent it anonymously to police with a note stating that it had been taken from his victim’s address.

Suzanne Stringer, for the prosecution, said that police officers went to the house of the victim, who cannot be named for legal reasons, and arrested her husband on suspicion of possession of indecent images of children. “This had a devastating effect on the family as he was given no access to his young children or his home while he was under investigation and he had to live with the trauma of being accused of crimes against young children, of which he is wholly innocent,” she said.

Yah. I’ve had wierd thoughts like this. When I came in second in a contest in High School, so I was alternate for the prize, I thought maybe the winner will get mono or something and I’ll get the prize. Then I thought, hey, I can give him mono and started to think of how I could do it.

But I didn’t do it!

This guy pulled the trigger!

In this country, the initial accused would have been utterly destroyed and convicted. We don’t require much (if any) evidence when it comes to such things. Hell, people have gone to jail here after proving that a computer virus pulled images onto their pcs. Its the new witch hunt.

Yah. It’s the ultimate way to destroy someone, because yes— guilt is assumed and there’s almost no way to prove your innocence. It would be interesting to find out how they caught the guy in this case.

One mistake was stealing the guy’s HD and sending it in. It would’ve been much more effective to arrange for the cops to discover it in place.

Wow-how would you protect yourself from someone who thinks like this? Maybe you should lock your computer in a gun safe when you leave the house.

That is scary ! How about at work. Someone doesn’t like you, they get on your computer while you are away and download child pr0n. Good reason to lock the screen when I walk away !

The UK is really messed up right now. This story helps illustrate it.

I agree, but even if it were here in the states, if someone broke into your house while you were sleeping...not much you could do ‘cause you wouldn’t even know it.

It's scary to see just how easy it would be to destroy somebody's life. It's as simple as stashing a bag of cocaine in somebody's coat pocket and calling the cops. Or as was almost the case here, planting child pornography in somebody's home.

Let's say you were a crooked cop in financial straits and somebody offered to pay you a sum of money to pull a certain person over and "find" something illegal in their car. How hard would that be to do? Not very hard at all.
