Applicant Fingerprint processing delay notice:

TXDPS has been notified by the FBI that all Fingerprint based background checks will be temporarily suspended beginning April 28, 2010 - May 3, 2010. The FBI Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) will be working with the U.S. Census Bureau to process more than 484,000 Fingerprints for Census Bureau workers.

Beginning May 4, 2010, TXDPS and the FBI will resume processing applicant fingerprints. It is important to note that the backlog of processing the fingerprint based background checks could take an additional two weeks. All applications will processed as quickly as possible once the FBI service returns to normal.

We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your patience.

A bunch of turkeys, not capable of doing anything right.

They’ll keep sending out forms and hiring any joe-blow-felon
until they get the numbers they want.

Anyone want to bet that most of the census “workers” will not look like you and me? More backdoor reparations.

So deadbeat dads and those with criminal records will be able to find some government work.

Well, how many will be ASCORN workers? Ex-ASCORN felons?

That’s scary enough.

I hope that they are checking that all male of age applicants are registered for the draft also as their application requires. My son got turned down for a temp job with the beaura. I wonder how many illegals they will have working.

It will be interesting to see who they send out here. I can hardly wait until those inner city critters start seeing some real gators, LOL.

I can assure you that (at least at MY office) we check EVERY male applicant in the time frame (born after 1959) for registration. I’ve personally had to call and tell people they were ineligible for that reason. We’re also checking citizenship/legality right when they take the employment test. Then it gets run again when the person is brought in and sworn in during training.

Pretty unlikely. When we go to call people to hire them, we check within the particular Census tract area first, then the results appear in order of score (test score + any veteran’s preference points=score) and any other factors(if we need bi-lingual people in a particular language, like Spanish or Hmong or Punjabi.. yes, even Punjabi). The computer spits out a list of people to call, then we call them and see if they want the job. They then get sched. for training, and at the training they do the fingerprinting. ( I do printing of people about once a week)

Read Michelle on Census workers and their e-mails to her.

excerpt: A common theme from the Census workers who’ve written in is the directive from their managers to slow down, stall, waste time, and stretch out their work unnecessarily.
Makes sense from a book-cooking standpoint, doesn’t it? More on the job inflation effect of the temporary Census worker hires here.
And now, more true confessions…

Well I certainly hope so. But I wonder, what special requirements are there for women?
