It really amazes me that the people running the State Dept know nothing about history—or at least pretend not to. Ditto with these “Peace Studies” bozos. There is not one signal instance where a conflict between two religious groups was solved by direct negotiations. The only (potential) exception to that is Northern Ireland—and I’m not sure the last page is written on that one either.
