He may be the world's foremost mixed-race leader, but when it came to the official government head count, President Barack Obama gave only one answer to the question about his ethnic background: African-American.
The White House confirmed Friday that Obama did not check multiple boxes on his U.S. Census form, or choose the option that allows him to elaborate on his racial heritage. He ticked the box that says "Black, African Am., or Negro."

I’m no expert but that picture looks very strange to me. If I had to bet on it I would call it a photoshop fake.
“The information in your records is only as good as what is inputted which is often not correct!”

Evander Holyfield was diagnosed with heart trouble...BEFORE he beat Mike Tyson! It turned out to be sarcoidosis, a disease which can mimic the symptoms of almost any other disease known. My wife suffers from it, she has been diagnosed at various times with enough fatal illnesses to kill a small town.
He can't buy votes with it.
The all-white lineup at MSNBC is still stuck on color of his skin and is incapable of moving forward to content of his character.
“Bears repeating.”
I’ll second that.
Can you imagine the confusion that would ensue when the media found out they backed, fronted, been syncopate whores for a mere mulatto instead of a black man.
Their historic pretense of the idea THEY put the first black man in the White House would be shattered
My wife has a nephew in Virginia who is as Caucasian as anyone on Earth but his children had to be listed on school records as “Guamanian”. Why? Because his wife is the daughter of a Caucasian man and a Guamanian woman, she had to list her race as Guamanian and the children are listed as Guamanian because their mother is, even though they are three fourths Caucasian. The school system lists students by race and they insist that the children are Guamanian.
The tradition goes back a long way. You are your mother’s race, the roots are probably in the old, “Mama’s baby, daddy’s maybe” line. Before DNA testing it was seldom possible to be one hundred percent sure of fatherhood.
Things are now reversed from the old ways when it comes to black people, “high yellows” used to pass as white if they could, now anyone who has even the slightest hint of black ancestry claims to be black, I saw a man on tv who claimed to be the first “black” something in the military and he looked pure Caucasian to me.
That's about the best description of him I've ever seen...perhaps tied with "Stuffed Shirt in an Empty Suit."
Did you report him? Was it on the ACS? I'm looking forward to seeing him be convicted of the "infraction" (that term the Census Bureau uses to try to evade the law and make it a $5000 fine).
"Guam" is not a race. The schools systems do that to show "diversity". If they can claim they more minority students they get more money.
The tradition goes back a long way. You are your mothers race, the roots are probably in the old, Mamas baby, daddys maybe line. Before DNA testing it was seldom possible to be one hundred percent sure of fatherhood.
Tradition yes. Law, I don't think so.
These labels are all used for money. I hate what this country is becoming. And, people are letting it happen because they are afraid to make waves.
It’s official: the average American doesn’t give a big, fat, hairy rodent’s derriere. (race is not an achievement)
“Guam” is not a race.

I know that but “Guamanian” is listed on government forms as a choice along with all the others. I hate what this country is becoming too, just at the time that Southern Baptist churches that are predominantly white have opened their doors to everyone and you can see people in the cradle of the confederacy interacting without regard to race we have Sharpton, Jackson, Obama and others who refuse to let go of the issue. Soon people like me may be arrested for being white in public.
I know some black people who reject the race-baiting attitude and seem to follow the, “I have a dream” way. I admire and respect them but I have no use for the Jackson, Sharpton, Obama followers.
It's like when my friend told me something starting with "As a black man..."
I interrupted and said "When did that happen?"
At least Obama's committed to something else other than socialism now.
By the way, my wife just dug up the SECOND census form that we received even though we already sent one in and sure enough, just as I thought I remembered, it lists, “Guamanian or Chamorro” as a choice for race.
When I search Chamorro it seems to be the language of Guam rather than the people.
And it's not an identity. It's not a culture, either.
In the fashion world, I believe, they have a saying that "this is the new black." Well, what you said is really "the new black." It's Liberation Theology that makes you black, just like it's Abortion Worship that makes you a feminist.
I would like to see someone press this point with him. Why in the world would he not have checked both boxes? Why would he totally deny the mother and grandparents that raised him?
I wonder if Alicia Keys checked two boxes.
About now someone needs to post that cute pic of baby Barry with his - gasp! - lily-white mother.
This was not generations ago. This was his own mother he’s denying.
What in the world is up with that? Would the LSM had not had a complete fit if he had checked Caucasian only, which, based on the answer he did make, he had every right to do?
Most Kenyan citizens would identifiy themselevs as Africans.
No surprise here.
“...and give blacks something to smile about.”
You mean people like Dr. Thomas Sowell? Dr. Condoleza Rice? Dr. Walter E. Williams? Judge Clarence Thomas?
*WINK*
“Why deny half your identity and the genetics of the family who raised you?”
Political expediency? ;)
