"Supposebly" (sic) is a credibility-killer for me.

Supposebly, that makes me close-minded.

I hate it when people say, “Things could be worse.”

Yes, things could always be worse, but that doesn’t mean that they are not bad now!

By the way, that begs the question:

Why do people say “begs the question” without realizing that to “beg the question” is to attempt to answer it by merely restating it, rather than meaning to “raise” the question?

You hit on one of my favorite dumb things people say...and for exactly the same reason you state....if you could care less, than you must care some right now, which is usually the opposite of what the person is saying..

"That begs the question" is used incorrectly almost always.

It's "a lot".

...and most people using the phrase, “begging the question,” have no idea what that means either.

Drives me nuts...but it’s a short trip.
