Congressman Steve Cohen of Memphis teed off on the Tea Party movement in a Thursday night radio interview attracting national attention.

The two-term Democratic congressman said the Tea Party — "without hoods and robes" — has shown an angry, hardcore side of America that's against any type of diversity.

“We saw opposition to African-Americans, hostility toward gays, hostility to anybody who wasn’t just, you know, a clone of George Wallace’s fan club,” he said on The Young Turks, an Internet and satellite radio talk show.

I abhor racism.

But I’ll take a racist over a communist any day of the week.

Racists are Gandhi clones when compared to communists.

I will send this POS a copy of Col. Frances Rice’s “Open Letter To Democrats”; it is meant for all those democrats that are historically handicapped.

She is a conservative black woman who lists all that the Republican party has done FOR the civil rights movement over the decades in opposition to the democrats and their successful attempts to keep the blacks on the plantation and voting democrat. She’s wonderful. Cohen is offal.

MOST dems need a history lesson.

He should cry to the members of the Congressional Black Caucus. Oh wait, they didn’t let him in.

Oh yes...he’s Jewish...very

Attended the Reform Temple on West End here in Nashville when he was at the state house.

He also trumpets his Jewishness ad nauseum when it suits him and is active in Jewish causes here.

An uber Jewish progressive....arguably the most leftist politcian ever elected in the Volunteer State.

His benefactors here whom I know a few are the Eskinds...very rich clan of some Democrat and some GOP Jews whose grandaddy made a fortune in Nashville medical venture capital...contemporaries of the Frist and Massey families

Most lefty Southern Jews are not so strident but his bloodline is fairly fresh not antebellum

he almost single handedly got smoking banned in TN at restaurants while at the State House

represents a nearly total black Memphis district and it took a planetary alignment to get his pinky arse elected...doubt he will last long...some Ford (who are arguably less liberal) will take his place

Wallace best effort was as a third party independent in 1968 where he won 5 states ( and 1 in NC) and 10 million votes ...he had appeal beyond just his segregationist views to some...the outsider...against big government ...for the little man and against radicals

He thought hippies like me were vermin and we thought he a Nazi...we were/he wasn’t...lol..he actually had combat time against the Japs

He was actually funny looking back...great wit....Nixon coulda used some...his vision had just run it’s course and he failed to see it till later in life...after he got shot bad.

He also has Midtown, which is largely urban white aging hippies.

And it’s not a Ford running against him. It’s King Willie Herenton.

Obama MSM says that the Tea Party is NO threat to the Dims.

Though amplifying widespread voter anger at the political establishment, the tea party movement is unlikely to dramatically affect the congressional elections - unless their local affiliates forge alliances with Republican candidates. And how likely is that? Republican operatives look at the possibility of GOP-tea party collaborations with some anxiety, and many tea party activists frankly don’t want to see them.
