At the Rally that you organized through Free Republic on Feb 27, 2009 Mr. Meckler was there.
He had nothing to do with organizing it and no influence of his group (that takes credit for EVERY Tea Party across the country on that day) inspired you or FR to initiate that tea party.
But from an article dated March 18th of this year lo and behold he himself is an "imposter" himself posing as the leader of the Tea Party Movement along with Jenny Beth Martin.
Here is a quote from Meckler from the above mentioned linked article:
Everyone should attend the tax day teaparty in Sacto that wants to go, because no matter how hard the Mecklers and Martins of this world try to take credit for tea parties and try to be the self proclaimed leaders, it's everyone that supports and shows up at tea parties that are the leaders.Don't give them any money.Mark Meckler, 48, a lawyer in Sacramento and independent who was a Republican until eight years ago, threw a party on February 27 thinking he would have six attendees. Instead, 150 people showed up.
"That inspired me to keep going," he said.
They will solicit for it but are not worthy of support IMO
We know no one can legitimately claim the mantle of "organizer." We were all organizers at that point.
It's true that FreeRepublic started the Sacramento party, and our old friend, Mark Williams, came on board very early. But Meckler was there -- that's where I met him, after some email correspondence -- and in fact he was instrumental in applying legal pressure to the capital police to allow us to remain on the capital grounds.
Tea Party Patriots is a very organized group and very effective. They are doing good work in developing community candidate forums, etc.
You wouldn’t by any chance still have a link to that early Sacramento thread with the noose and the lightening bolt, would you?
