One of the tactics they used a few years back (here in DC) was to come up to you as if they were a reporter and wanted to ask you a question. They’d even have a camera person with them. But, then they’d get in your face and start to ask you some stupid liberal questions. They’d keep at you hoping you’d say something threatening. Or get enraged to “show” on their website how hostile the right are.
Just keep saying NO! to them.
On a related note: I attended a Bob Dole/ Jack Kemp rally in 1996. Bob Dole was going to be there but Jack Kemp was campaigning in a nearby city.
A reporterette from the local leftist rag came up to me. The question that she asked me took me aback a second, "Are you disappointed that Jack Kemp did not show up?" It was one of the few times I was thinking on my feet and I replied something like, "Bob Dole and Jack Kemp are what is good for America".
The question asked of me was a have-you-stopped-beating-your-wife question. With a little imagination, you can see how the repoterette could take a "yes" or "no" response and twist it to a leftist slant.
Moral of the story: DO NOT answer THEIR question. Respond with a canned response or slogan or something similar. Another approach is to imagine that the so-called reporter asked "who is right for America" or "who is wrong for America" or "what does the Tea Party represent".
