If for no other reason than they helped keep taxes low these past 100 years.

Catholics are a solid liberal voting block, without Catholics, liberalism would not have advanced so thoroughly in America, and we are importing millions more every year, it isn't saving us money, for instance Obama won 54% of the Catholic vote.

Here is a snap shot of that radical transformational period (and tax raising period) of the 1940s and 1960s for example.

The Catholics who are the solid liberal voting bloc, are not necessarily the pew-sitter who are there every week, and who take Catholic teachings seriously.
