Yeah, as a mom, I am TERRIFIED of “the big one” and keeping my brood safe! I am still worried, what if this was a foreshock, G-d please forbid. Glad that it was not in the middle of the night because that is scarier.

I thought I was having a stroke. It was weird. The room started swaying but it didn’t make a sound, not even a groan. I’ve been living with earthquakes all my life, but this was just the strangest one I ever felt. Frankly I was relieved when I looked up and saw my hanging lamps swaying. It was only then that I realized it was an earthquake and not a brain seizure.

That’s why I like Virginia, we have hurricanes and nor’easters, but we know days in advance that they’re coming.

West of there off of Shadowridge and Melrose. This was my first earthquake and I’m not thrilled with the experience. :)

Greetings from the Top O’ the Cove in La Quinta.....your tsunami theory would instantly take care of a huge chunk of the immigration issue.

Felt it at SDSU for a good 30 seconds plus. Garage floor concrete slab felt like liquid. Outside the power lines between the poles were moving noticeably. Still getting aftershocks.

I am 20 minutes from the Mexicana border in San Diego, was lying on my adjustable tempurpedic with my greyhound and thought she had rolled over on the vibration button on the bed remote!

That’s why I like Virginia, we have hurricanes and nor’easters, but we know days in advance that they’re coming.

Then you worry and fret and your blood pressure goes up and you die anyway. With an earthquake you usually have about 10 seconds to worry and then if it keeps getting worse, you can panic. If your panic keeps up for more than a few seconds, the building falls on your head and then everything settles down.

I've become so accustomed to the "like" button on facebook, I was looking around for the button. That is why I like Virginia, too. :-)

However when daughter was in school in Lynchburg, they had an earthquake there.

Same here no jolt just a rolling that increased in force very different than the usual ones...I was begining to wonder when it would stop. I even headed for door frame and outside...looking for a safe place where nothing would fall from overhead.

I wonder what the damage is in Mexicali, may watch Mexico news tonight. CNN reporting some people trapped in elevator on their bottom ticker but no location...
