The entitlement programs, including Obamacare, will continue to consume more and more of the federal budget along with the annual debt servicing costs. Like Europe, we will have to choose between guns and butter, and the politicians and the people will choose butter.

I see a declining global role for the US and a reduction in defense spending. Unfortunately, we will not have the luxury of someone else picking up the bill like Europe did, i.e., the US provided the security umbrella to allow them to increase the social welfare state.

I would like to know what the END point is financially....when can the US not just print more money, but actually be forced to make huge cuts...
