Man, six years old... I'm surprised it doesn't say 'the youngest person to take her own life in the history of the planet.' Can't conceive of anyone that young doing that.

The only thing I can think of is that this kid must have burdened with a tremendous sense of guilt. Some children are repeatedly told they are worthless, are bad kids always doing things wrong, and made to feel guilty for small transgressions or for even existing.

The family dynamics, how everyone in this family relates to one another, could be eye-opening.

2. When I was that old, I had no understanding that death was permanent. I thought it was like the RoadRunner cartoons where the coyote falls thousands of feet to his death and then is back chasing the bird mere seconds later.

So either the kid “committed suicide” but with no concept of what she was doing or she watched something on television and decided to act out the same way some children jump off rooftops to test their supposed ability to fly.

I was tutoring six year old twins after their school day.

A note came home advising that one of their classmates had died and the parents should discuss this with their children.

When I mentioned to the boys that Jon had gotten very sick over the weekend and died they told me the teacher had told them that but they were sure that Jon would be back in school on Monday.
