The federal government's continued assault on capitalism hasn't gone unnoticed overseas, where even bitter and virulent former foes see this for the tragedy that it is.

Recent studies show that Americans are more dependent than ever on government — the biggest threat to their freedom of all. According to the Tax Foundation, 60% of households in America in 2004 received more in benefits and services from government than they paid in taxes. Under President Obama's massive spending hikes, that will soon rise to 70% or more.

"The American Republic will endure until the day Congress discovers that it can bribe the public with the public's money." — Alexis de Tocqueville (Democracy in America)

Capitalism is alive and well. The author needs to interview the wealth holders in America and around the world and ask them if they lack private ownership of capital and land.

Capitalism is alive and well and serving its masters as they use the bounty of capitalism to buy up Unions and Politicians.

The real story is: So Long to Liberty - And Then Some!

Referenced article...from Pravda of all places!
American capitalism gone with a whimper
It must be said, that like the breaking of a great dam, the American decent into Marxism is happening with breath taking speed, against the back drop of a passive, hapless sheeple, excuse me dear reader, I meant people.

That's just the first paragraph of the article. They could at least take the Tea Party into consideration.

Senator Barney Franks, a social pervert basking in his homosexuality (of course, amongst the modern, enlightened American societal norm, as well as that of the general West, homosexuality is not only not a looked down upon life choice, but is often praised as a virtue) and his Marxist enlightenment, has led this effort.

I have died and am living in Socialist hell when Pravda speaks, literally, the truth.

The proud American will go down into his slavery with out a fight, beating his chest and proclaiming to the world, how free he really is. The world will only snicker.

Pass the Victory Gin, we've always been at war with Eastasia.

As a result of the state's creeping hegemony, the republic we inherited and the unalienable rights we were guaranteed have never been more threatened.
Brother, you said a mouthful!

The majority will never even turn toward the subject to understand it because they are being inundated with the message from mass media (on the right) that it is Socialism and other isms that are beating Capitalism to death.

Mass media is owned by Capitalist and they are playing the people on the "left and the right" like a fiddle.

I am not against Capitalism, I am against those who use Capitalism to cheat the system and enslave the people.

In Pravda, of all places. And Pravda is right to focus on the fact that the American people are willing accomplices. They still have this fantasy that they can get more and more government goodies without working and have “the rich” pay for them.

If you think we still have the right to own property and capital, I would suggest that you fail to pay your property taxes and verify it. Or you might try reading the Kelo decision and if that fails then check out what happened to the preferred stockholders of GM and Chrysler.

Who was talking about "WE?"

I would suggest that you improve your reading comprehension skills.

I was speaking of the WEALTH HOLDERS - the BIG CHEESES - the ROBBER BARON types.

"WE" the people are the pawns, friend.

Lol. I have been saying this for many years now. After all, it is just too much to risk our "financial security" - our jobs, our houses, our families, our beer, our sports, our flat screen TV's - to speak out loud enough to make our voices heard. This stand true for even the most ardent, gun-toting right wing Conservatives I know.

Never mind that your freedom, and the Constitution, are being pissed away by the Socialists in Washington, R or D.

Captialism has never enslaved anyone. Governments, otoh, are behind every enslavement and mass killing of man that has ever been.

Umm, the GOVERNMENT made slavery legal, genius. And state governments prevented people from freeing their slaves, even when they wanted to ) see the history of Virginia before the Civil war), until they decided not to. See, they controlled it from inception to demise.

And, child labor was not slavery. Children were free to leave those jobs if their parents agreed. Unless you think children are slaves to their parents, genius.

. Governments, otoh, have legalized slavery, and the killing of millions ( under Pol Pot, Stalin, HItler and others) all pefectly legal under government laws.

I'll take voluntary association with a corporation any day. Unless it becomes invlountary, like the new health care law, where I am Forced to submit to a corporation. But then who did that ? Why, a government, of course.

"I am against those who use Capitalism to cheat the system and enslave the people."

The lawmakers act like mobsters who run a protection racket with the Capitalists. If you are a business owner or a corporation, the lawmakers threaten to regulate them out of business unless they kick in money for political campaigns. Then politicians will use regulations to protect their friends at the expense of competitors.

There was one libtard I met who used the words “capitalist fascism”

I tried to explain the oxymoron but it just wouldn’t sink in.

This is what we’re dealing with on a massive scale and it won’t let up until the dumb are removed from the political process...which is never.
