Obama Supporter Krugman Admits "Death Panels" in Health Care Allow Rationing

Washington, DC (LifeNews.com) -- Now that President Barack Obama has signed the pro-abortion health care bill into law, a supporter of his has admitted the rationing components in it. During an appearance on ABC's "This Week" Paul Krugman admits some of the concerns that pro-life groups pointed out during the debate.

Krugman claims accurately that the cost/benefit board established over private medicine by the new health care program will be able to impose “more or less binding judgments” refusing care.

He said these judgments will save “a lot of money” in the context of treating the elderly and people with disabilities and terminal illnesses.

Krugman also said panel will prevent treatment that isn't “medically” useful.

Wesley J. Smith, an author and attorney who is a bioethics watchdog, noticed the interview.

"No, the money won't be taken out of the hide of patients who want physiologically useless treatment, it will come at the lethal cost to patients whose treatment will be refused because it could work, based on the invidious judgment that the patient’s life is not worth the money to support," he said in response.

"In short, Krugman has admitted that contrary to the many mendacious denials by Obamacare supporters, the new regime will impose rationing," as happens in the UK, Smith added.

"This is akin to imposing a duty to die because when we reach a certain point in life, we will not be able to obtain treatment we want that could keep us going. Indeed, for me, this centralized federal control over what will and will not be provided in medicine–and to whom–is the biggest reason (among so many) why Obamacare is wrong," Smith commented.

How does this fit “equal protection under the law”? Answer: It doesn’t. Doesn’t rationing violate the constitution because there is no equal protection under the law?

There will be more pain and death under this program.

They are purely evil and working directly for the father of lies.

And just think. Obama managed to have his mother and grandmother die off rather conveniently and quickly, before this even became 'law'.

He wants to use this law to force 'you' to become like 'him'. It absolves his guilt. Kinda like 'carbon credits'.

that is the point. the elderly cost money. If they die, then we can achieve the $500,000,000,000 savings in health care but also save social security. Keep in mind that these rationers will be political appointments. so if you are a conservative with a sprained ankle they will probably assign the case to Dr. Kevorkian. I do not see a lot of good coming out of this healthcare reform.

margaret sanger is laughing it up in hell.

IMHO hell is *only* pain, and I see her face as twisted, horribly disfigured, and on fire. But since I haven't been there, what do I know? Maybe one can laugh in hell. I never want to find out. :)

“He said these judgments will save “a lot of money”

We need a philosophy to help us make these life and death decisions. It should be rational, based on science. It should always keep the social good above all else. We could call it Scientific Socialism........ darn it! That name is already taken!

All three of my sibs wanted the plug pulled on my mother, and were angry at me for my persistence to have her on a ventilator. I think at the end, they let my mom go without my approval, and that will be their hell to pay, if so. All three of them ended up voting for Obama btw (and still are not sorry they did). I wonder if there's any connection ... :)

“the elderly”. they’ll start at 70, then pretty soon, 65, then 50, good luck kids.
Then the disabled, first the mentally, then the physically, then the ‘emotionally”, good luck kids

of course there was going to be a board somewhere deciding whether to pay certain claims.

Anyone who ever insisted otherwise was lying or stupid.

If a doctor charges 10000000000000 dollars to remove a tooth... some board somewhere is going to deny that...

does that make it a “death panel” ? well not in that scenario... but if a claim is denied on a treatment needed to keep someone alive.. then yes, theoretically they would be killing that person.

Euthanasia has always been a core principal of the statist left. Look back to these movements in the 20’s and 30’s when such people supported the idea of sterilizing poor people to reduce their numbers. Today these idiots want to abort every baby that they can get thier demonic hands on to control the “overpopulation” of the earth.

You can imagine the “deer in the headlights” look I get from these mental midgets when I try to explain to them that only 5.5% of the land mass in the USA is developed for human habitation.

These people are dangerous becuase they are arrogant, ignorant and motivated.

With each dead baby they create or promote, they further let the evil one reside in their hearts, and the ignorance and arrogance they receive (from him) is tough to scour out. I can understand why you're not getting through ...
