Show me ONE instance in the last 50 years where the Republicans were willing to universally oppose a liberal Supreme Court pick?

Sure they usually make some noise... complain and threaten to do ______ but in the end most of them cave.

In my opinion the Republicans don't want a pro life majority on the court, it would take away a great campaign issue for them.

If the Republicans REALLY wanted to do something about abortion... why when they had super majorities and the presidency didn't they make getting an abortion costly and inconvenient?

I know they can't overrule the Supreme Court on Roe... but

-—They could tax the heck out of the procedure...

-—They could make any doctor that wants to perform the procedure go through expensive and repetitive training...

-—They could create a national data base of everyone who gets or performs an abortion...

-—They could require a long waiting period...

-—They could require the consent of a judge...

-—They cold require the consent of a parent for minors...

-—They could sick the civil rights division on Planned Parenthood, to investigate why nearly all abortion clinics are built in minority neighborhoods...

There was a MILLION things the Republicans COULD of done, but didn't when they had total power. I can only assume they found it more beneficial to them to not change the status quo.

I've already stated that the President is afforded the right to choose his or her own SC nominee, and if that person is legally qualified, the Republicans don't stand in the way.

Your opinion regarding the pro-life majority is nonsensical, and your cynicism regarding Republicans indicates that you're not basing your views on facts, but rather on feelings.

It's OK for you to hate Republicans from a personal standpoint, but to try to make logical arguments based on your emotions just doesn't work.

The Republicans have gravely disappointed ALL conservatives (especially those of us with an R by our names), but saying outlandish things and making stupid accusations doesn't hurt the Republicans. It just makes you look irrational.
