The Department of Labor has launched a special program to assist and protect illegal immigrant workers in the U.S., referred to as "vulnerable" and "underpaid" by the presidential cabinet member who heads the agency.
Hundreds of new field investigators have been deployed to reach out to Latino laborers in areas with large numbers of illegal alien employees. Their message, in Spanish, is "we can help" bring workplace protections to the nation's most vulnerable and underpaid workers, including those who have no legal right to live in the Untied States.
Labor Secretary Hilda Solis, a former California congresswoman with close ties to the influential La Raza movement, announced the "We Can Help" project with great fanfare a few days ago. A total of 1,000 investigators from her agency will focus on enforcing labor and wage laws in industries that typically hire lots of illegal aliens without reporting anyone to federal immigration authorities.
Solis told Latino workers that "your president, your secretary of labor and this department will not allow anyone to be denied his or her rightful pay, especially when so many in our nation are working long, hard and often dangerous hours." She assured illegal immigrants that "if you work in this country, you are protected by our laws."
The same day Solis publicly announced the Obama Administration's new project, a Labor Department investigator visited a day laborer center in northern California to promote it. The federal employee actually chatted warmly with the illegal immigrants about how to find jobs without being exploited, according to a local newspaper report. "We're the feds but the good ones," he told the day laborers in Spanish. "We're here to help workers."
The agency has also launched a Spanish television advertising campaign to spread the word and created a web site. Workers in industries from construction to food service are urged to contact the Labor Department of wage and hour violations. An investigator may be deployed to the work site or the employer may be taken to court.
So ... Amnesty by Executive Order.
Who’s going to challenge this? Not a Pubbie is my guess.
It is just one WTF moment after another with these guys!
Good post. Sickening, but still a good post.
Thanks.
Any person who spends his own money to buy his groceries or pay his bills is a victim of theft and fraud by the Democrat radicals in Washington...please Lord, let this pernicious regime collapse under the weight of it’s evil actions.
Where is the outrage from the AFL-CIO or UAW? /sarc
There, fixed it.
This is despicable. Break our laws, steal our identities, milk our social(ist) services, and you're protected from our laws.
The only American ‘workers’ that 0bama considers in his decision making are Unions employees. The rest of us are trash.
If the illegals can join the SEIU, they are welcomed with open arms.
When is enough, enough Mister President?
Snips: In Denver, another illegal alien, Francis Hernandez, driving drunk at 80 miles an hour through a stop light, ran over and killed two women and a three year old child, Martin Kudlis, while he licked his ice cream cone at a Baskin-Robbins with his parents. In court last week, jurors sentenced Hernandez to 60 years in prison. Too late! Both women and the child died because police failed to prosecute and deport Hernandez after 19 arrests.
Every week, week in and week out, American citizens watch their loved ones die or suffer injuries from illegal aliens raping, killing, drunk driving killings, shop lifting, stealing, pitching drugs to their kids and an endless array of anchor babies, job thefts, ID forgeries and lawlessnessall 20 million of them.
With our schools being destroyed, our hospitals systems being overwhelmed and our prisons filled beyond capacity, when is enough, enough Mr. Obama?
What reason does the president give for amnesty? He wants to make 20 million criminal aliens legal? Give them full citizenship rights? Give them voting rights? Give them full access to our entire welfare programs and social security? At what cost?
“If the illegals can join the SEIU, they are welcomed with open arms.”
Yup, I am sure that is the plan; a few months left, so they need to get them registered to vote too.
By the same token if we enter Mexico illegally, we would go directly to jail there.
It’s frighteningly simple. Obama wants their vote. He cares about nothing else......but his power.....and his Marxist agenda.
Precisely. That's why he'll have no problem inflicting Cap and Trade upon us, raising our utility bills sky high and cripping citizens and businesses alike with a financial burden that likely will drive some over the edge (let alone what it will do to the already severely wounded US economy).
“your president, your secretary of labor and this department will not allow anyone to be denied his or her rightful pay, especially when so many in our nation are working long, hard and often dangerous hours.”
WTF???!!! This is insane. They ain’t go no President here. There Presidente is in Mexico or where ever they hail from.
I feel for people who come to America trying to eeck out a living or make a better life for themselves and their family, but they have no special rights and are not American.
If they want to become American No Problemo but, they are not represented by our government.
I could go on and on but why? I guess I picked a bad week to quit sniffing glue....
You and the rest of us in the heart and soul of America. We're baffled why our government / politicians insist on disregarding our Constitution and our Rule of Law in this nation and turning us into a third world country.
Introducing another nation's population into ours for the sole purpose of keeping one political party or the other in perpetual rule is a DICTATORSHIP. Glue sniffing not required for the obvious outcome of political noncompliance with existing rules and laws set forth upon this nation and now spat upon by those leading us in cities, states and the White House.
