Dear Friends,

I received exciting news this week when former Congressman Duncan Hunter announced that he will be coming to Arizona to campaign on my behalf. Congressman Hunter is someone whom I admire a great deal. As former chairman of the House Armed Services Committee and strong proponent of the border fence, we share the same national security concerns. Very soon we will be announcing the information on our May event. Please stay tuned, you won’t want to miss it!

The recent murder of Arizona rancher and dedicated family-man Robert Krentz highlights the desperate need for a secure border. We cannot continue to ignore the growing problem just a short drive to the south. President Obama and our Homeland Security Secretary Napolitano continue to pay lip service to the concerns of all Arizonans, as they stand by and watch as our laws are flagrantly broken and our national security is threatened.

We must secure our border by whatever means necessary. Lives depend on it.

This is a guy trying to fill John Shadegg's spot, who mercifully, is retiring. But Shadegg is retiring on a low note as he goes out blasting Hayworth and prasing Amnesty McCain.

Crump looks like an excellent conservative to replace the RINO shadegg.

The Federal Government is Out of Control

I want to represent you in Congress to fight the liberal agenda of:

- bailing out failing companies

- taking over private companies like the auto industry

- forcing socialized healthcare on all of us

- stifling industry under “cap & trade”

- granting amnesty to illegal aliens

- increasing spending to allegedly “stimulate” the economy

- and raising taxes to pay for all of it.

Jobs & The Economy

Ronald Reagan showed us what works almost 30 years ago: reduce taxes and regulations on the private sector and watch it flourish. But today the Congress and the White House are doing just the opposite by meddling in every aspect of the private sector and spending our children’s and grandchildren’s future.

The American people are the greatest innovators and hardest working people in the world. We can get this economy going again and put people back to work by getting the federal government off the backs of businesses and working people. We need to provide certainty that allows companies to hire workers and invest in plant & equipment, knowing that the rules won’t be changing next year at the whim of Congress.

Lower Taxes

The best way to reduce government spending is to lower taxes. As a State Representative I supported the permanent repeal of the state equalization property tax and the reduction of the business personal property tax. I have been honored to be named a Friend of the Taxpayer by the Arizona Taxpayers Federation. I will go to Washington to fight for the Fair Tax. I am impressed by the simple yet powerful ideas of this proposal. And while any bold tax overhaul will have be scrutinized and modified, I believe the Fair Tax proposal is a great place to start that process.

Limited Government

The solution to our problems is not more government programs. They start out with good intentions and then blossom into bloated bureaucracies that become inefficient and subject to fraud, waste and abuse. For example, the Department of Education was established under the Carter Administration and the quality of education in America has declined ever since. That department now costs us over $100 billion per year. As a member of Congress I will fight for reforms to reduce our bureaucracies, eliminate some that exist, and oppose the establishment of new ones.

Illegal Immigration & National Security

As a State Representative I was proud to work on the employer sanctions law that we passed in 2007. I also supported efforts to prohibit sanctuary cities. And I oppose any attempt to grant amnesty to illegal aliens. For once we are doing something about the problem and not just talking about it, and I will continue to stand up on this issue in Congress.

Our national security is in danger. I am very concerned that we have a Secretary of Homeland Security and a Director of the CIA who have no background in the intelligence sector. We need experienced people with expertise in these positions to keep the American people safe. In Congress, I will use my military experience to make a priority of supporting our troops and ensuring that, when we put our soldiers in harm’s way, we are in it to win!

Reducing Crime & the Right to Bear Arms

I established a solid record in the Legislature of supporting law & order. I have voted to provide the resources law enforcement needs to do their jobs and to make Arizona safer. Whether the issue is border security, child predators, vehicle theft or any other crime, it is all about keeping our citizens safe. And this includes defending the right of individuals to keep and bear arms. As your Congressman I will not waiver in my support of the Second Amendment.

Protecting Traditional Family Values

As a State Representative, I have worked to protect the unborn and to defend the sanctity of human life. I am also a strong supporter of traditional marriage – between one man and one woman – and I will oppose any attempt by liberal activists to change this.
