Congressman Tim Walz came to Austin Friday, talking with businesses about jobs, energy, and financial services.

But the hot topic was health care reform.

Super Fresh in Austin was of many stops for Congressman Walz as he checks in with local businesses.

"To get a feel for are people felling optimist are we doing the right things, moving in the right direction so it's just to make sure I’m very, very familiar and in tune with what's going on out here," said Congressman Tim Walz.

Walz recently voted for the health care reform bill, a big topic with local businesses.

"I think its big for America, but more importantly it's big for small business," said owner of Super Fresh, Jim Stiles.

"The system is broken it needs to be fixed but I don't believe government is the one to fix it," said owner of Cedar River Horse Logging, Tim Carroll.

Whether they support it or not, businesses owners are questioning how the bill is going to affect them.

"The law has passed but then you have rules and the rules haven't been put out yet," said owner of Donkers Appliance, Ralph Donker.

"I'm on a freeze, I don’t do anything with my business until I figure out if I can survive or not hiring employees is just not a option until I know where I stand," said Carroll.

And Walz isn't one bit surprised with all the questions.

"We did not do a good job of putting out the information of what's in there and if there's a vacuum and there no information and it was filled with bad data and I don't blame people for being nervous about this," said Walz.

Walz adds main street feedback is something he takes seriously.

"Nothing's carved in stone, we can keep the stuff that works and throw out the stuff that doesn't," said Walz.

In the meantime, business owners say they're reading up on the bill to figure out what's in it for them and what's not.

“When the government spends more money than it takes in, your family pays the price,” the Democrat told students.

But the Dems are just gonna keep on spending and spending anyway. And then, what do ya know? They have to raise your taxes! Grrr!

Did you look at the models in Tennessee and Massachusettes and see what worked and didn’t work there BEFORE you were part of the cabal that voted in this healthcare???

Excellent point! To which I might add, both of these models were less comprehensive and screwed up than the ObamaCare monstrosity which just got rammed down our throats. Liberals never thing what they do is a failure. They only think it failed because they weren't allowed to do enough of it.
