I went to Catholic school from kindergarten on up....I had great teachers for the most part.....we loved our teachers back then.....had great respect for them....

I don't have as much.....

when my slightly slow dtr brought home her first paper from kindergarten, the jerk teacher had written in bold "very messy"...that left a bad taste in my mouth....

then there was the time when the rat school principal was having the rat governor visit the school and the kids...of course, I dressed my two up and prepared them for a great civic event....but of course the rat principal didn't actually have the rat governor visit with the kids....he instead brought his kid out of my dtrs class to meet the governor first hand and that was it.....

all I ever needed to know about rats....

I can't think of a single good reason why teachers should have tenures while normal working men, including all them miners that just died in the coalmines in Virgina, don't even come close to having tenures.

Joe, for all practical purposes all union members and especially government workers have tenure. They are nearly impossible to fire.
