On ABCs This Week, when retired ABC newsman Sam Donaldson recommended that President Barack Obama nominate, to replace Supreme Court Justice John Paul Stevens, someone who is going to stand up for the principles on the left, if you will that he believes in, Cokie Roberts jumped in: Im not so sure he is so far to the left. Donaldson agreed: Well, Im not sure either.
Minutes later, Roberts contended the efforts of state attorneys general, to get a federal court to rule unconstitutional ObamaCares requirement every citizen get health insurance, reminded her of the nullification which led to the Civil War:

Nope, not a civil war.
Neither was the war of 1861.
3rd war of independence. We’re due for a tie breaker.
They shall rue the day.
I think both sides are spoiling for a fight,
and the only way to defuse the situation is a state level separation.
We obviously don’t want them to force their collectivism on us - they are willing to use force to do so, we are willing to use force to keep them from doing so.
On the other hand, they don’t want responsibility “imposed” on them, and are willing to use force to prevent that,
whereas we are just willing to let them form their own little dependent enclaves.
They’ve been in our faces and pocketbooks for DECADES. Trespassing on our properties and rights, discriminating against us and our children, ruining our neighborhoods and schools and shopping areas . . .
Yet we’d be the heavies to start the CW. LOL......
Liars, thieves and nitwits.
So by "civil war" I guess they mean a "sit-in"??
Kookie is the clueless one whose father was driven to the airport by Bill Clinton. Her father’s plane took off and was never heard from again.
Nah, Obama isn’t a leftist. He’s right down the middle Sam and Kokie. ROTFLMAO...
One would wonder what the hell it would take if a Fascist Socialist couldn’t be recognized for one, if someone else were to actually qualify.
Let me guess, a die hard Constitutionalist. Now that would be a socialist in their eyes... LOL
.
Im not so sure he is so far to the left.
What?
I despise the media whores at least as much as the commie politicians themselves.
Can we say they’re “on the list”...?
It already is a Civil War. When you cram legislation down half the country’s throat, what did the expect? A Tea Party?
The question for those denying his radical leftism:
“So, let’s say he’s not a radical leftist - what would he be doing differently if he were?”
That’ll usually cause a sheeperal’s head to explode.
Like that word? Just now made it up!
Hah! Good line...
(hopefully it doesn't come to that ... but you never know...)
They are already using deadly force (or the threat thereof) in order to impose their socialism on us.
Yes, THEY have committed the first, second, third, hundredth steps toward a war.
Well, he’s not a Centrist! A middle-of-the-road’er..
I agree with your premise, and support you taking the Sheeperal’s to task. ;-)
The war is between the producers and those who do not. I think that Tom Baugh is correct in his observation that, if we do not precipitate the collapse of this monky collective-ruled civilization, then the monkeys will destroy all of it - ushering in a Dark Age that will be millenia in duration. His advice - crash it NOW - starve them out - and thus have something left to build upon.
the reality is that even Washington DC were to dissolve in a bath of nuclear fire, the monkey collective would promptly reinstate the same old game on the ruins of the old. Vote ‘em out? Sure. Only to vote more of the same back in. How can we alter the the set of expectionas and sense of entitlement shared by what looks like at least half of our countrymen?
The monkey half of America had a chance to sober up and become men after 9/11. they blew it and reverted to type almost before the dust settled. That should tell you more than anything else. And it ain’t good.
19 attorney generals to you, Roberts.
” I must say, I was just with my grand kids at Fort Sumter, and the notion of nullification made me extremely nervous because it was, of course, the first step toward the Civil War.”
Bring it on whenever you want. Guess who has most of the guns (and really knows how to use them) here?
