How sad and pathetic is the effort to prop up Mitt Romney, to make him look like a viable candidate for 2012? Pretty sad.
As is done at every big political gathering, a straw poll was held at the Southern Republican Leadership Conference in New Orleans. These things are generally worthless as a predictor of who is a viable candidate though, Bill Frist won the previous poll at the SRLC, for example.
At this years CPAC event, Ron Paul won the polling, making a mockery of the entire process. In fact, so many shenanigans have been going on lately, there has been talk of ending the practice of conducting straw polls at these events altogether.
After the SRLC, that may just happen.

On the other hand................
This filthy process forces our RINOs out into the open so that we can get a clear shot.
IT’S TIME TO HUNT THE RINOs, BOYS AND GIRLS111
Romney learned from the Paulbots that buying lots of event tickets (CPAC) and stuffing ballot boxes equals mentions of “WINNER!” in the media with no explanation of the trick.
I hope Romney doesn’t turn into the next McCain, the GOP candidate selected for us by “independents”, “cross over” voters and RINO intellectuals who have discovered they are actually contemptuous of conservatism
Here’s what’s funny:
Ron Paul got fewer tickets than he paid for!
If these two are the front runners of the right, we're screwed.
Either the GOP gets rid off crossover primaries, or we’re all gonna have to learn to love Mitt.
