I don't know why Verizon jumped into the fray here, but I'm not too concerned with that.

Am I the only one here who wonders which spectrum that the FCC is seeking to (wink wink) reclaim?

Why do I have a feeling that this is a back door way to localism?(localism, which is a back door way to the fairness doctrine)

My gut feeling is that AM radio is somehow tied in with this. These people do not stop and seemingly everything they do is a smokescreen to some other goal.

Verizon sponsors free calls to talk radio shows and I suspect that there is a lot of money at stake.

They also may suspect that this is not the only reclamation project in the works.

November, you cannot come too fast.

Desire to reclaim the spectrum?

How about their desire to shred the 1st Amendment and replace it with their brand of Fascism?

I don't know why Verizon jumped into the fray here,

They don't want any more competition in wireless, simple as that.

They are being pressued by wireless internet providers to reclaim space that can be used for hot spots and wireless internet. Since fewer and fewer people watch TV over the air they are looking at reallocating those frequencies. AM radio frequencies would be pretty useless for this function actually.
