Huckabee told the interviewer that not every group's interests deserve to be accomodated if their lifestyle is outside what he called "the ideal."...

If liberals say that they want marriage to be redefined to allow for the legalization of same sex marriage, that they want marriage equality for consenting adult homosexuals and that consenting adults should be allowed to marry based upon love, and then turn around and say that they don't want marriage to also be redefined to allow polygamous marriage, that they aren't for marriage equality for polygamists (just for homosexuals) and that marriage should be based upon love for homosexuals but not for polygamists then they show themselves to be hypocrites. And they also lose that valuable weapon of calling others bigots because they show themselves to be bigoted against polgamy.
BUT, for liberals to avoid being tagged as bigots (as well as being hypocrites) then they would have to say that they support the legalization of polygamy as well - which would undermine the push for same sex marriage being legalized. Two front war.
The third front liberals open up on themselves when they bring up the Bible somehow supporting polygamy. Jesus never supported polygamy. He quoted Genesis which says that marriage was meant from the beginning to between one man and one woman. And there are NO scriptures which condone same sex marriage.

Let’s keep the discussion to Huckabee taking on same sex marriage and showing that it is hypocritical for liberals to want to accomodate homosexuals but not polygamists.

Homosexuality is comparable to pedophilia as well or any other perverse sexual desire.
A lot of people who are biblically ignorant equate the recording of events and practices (polygamy, slavery) with the condoning of those events and practices.
The OT is mostly a history book, with later books of prophecy.
If homosexuality is “normal” and it is “wrong” to deny someone the right to act on their baser instincts, then bisexual people should be allowed one spouse of each gender. Otherwise the homosexuals are requiring the bisexuals to deny half of their own identity.
But the thing that would follow the legalization of same sex marriage across America would be the legalization of polygamy - not the legalization of bestiality.

The Sex Positive advocates like Kinsey, Reich, and socialist feminists agree that they are comparable but don’t see them as perversion. They see sexual gratification as a birthright to be enjoyed without any moral judgements.

The main point is that there is THE definition,
or there is NO definition - anything goes.
Polygamy makes biological sense. Homosexuality does not.
Indeed, and they show that they lack the ability to do a proper exegesis of the scriptures and taking the totality of scripture when it comes to any topic.
What I find interesting is those liberals who argue against the scriptures (where God condemns homosexuality) and say that the scriptures are being taken out of context and that God does not condemn same sex marriage or homosexuality.
I then ask them to provide any scripture which condones homosexuality or same sex marriage. They then - typically - say that the Bible is just a dusty old archaic book that is irrelevant. Funny how they quickly go from quoting scripture to bashing the Bible.

While conservatives all agree on this, I can easily see how the pro-drug Libertarians would be spitting mad over this.
