People who run for political office have a need to be appreciated. It’s no fun anymore when all they get is complaints from constituents when they go out in public.

The only reason they are retiring is to achieve some level of immunity and to avoid future prosecution whether it be at the polls or being investigated they know when the gig is up and time to get out of dodge.

...that goes without saying. I remember when Chief Moose of Montgomery County was heading up the search for the sniper a few years ago. Everytime he talked to the press he butchered the english language. Embarrassing to listen to.

I think Moose is a Patrolman in the Honolulu Police Department now. I guess he cannot do much harm there as a rookie officer.
