Our betters in the blogosphere and mainstream media have spent the afternoon tut-tutting those of us who suspect a political angle to the savage attack on Republican Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal's chief fundraiser Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend Joe Brown last Friday night after a fundraising dinner in New Orleans.
The Hayride, for those who haven't noticed, has not retracted their report that the couple was attacked for wearing Sarah Palin pins, even though a spokesman for Gov. Jindal has put out e-mails to select reporters and bloggers saying they were not wearing Palin pins.
This evening, the New Orleans Police Department released a statement pleading with the public for information about the attack. The description by the police of the incident does not describe a robbery, but it also does not say what exactly precipitated the attack, nor does it report a motive.
The statement does describe the attackers as a group of "Caucasian" men, one of whom was described as "dirty" and wearing a beard and ponytail.
That describes a typical leftwing protester of the type that were hanging outside the Republican fundraiser taunting attendees.

Superintendent Warren J. Riley and members of the New Orleans Police are asking the public�s assistance in locating and identifying several suspects wanted in connection with an incident that occurred in the 600 block of Saint Louis Street . The incident occurred Friday April 9, 2010, at approximately 10:45 P.M.
According to investigators, the victims were walking from a function at a restaurant in the 400 block of Royal Street . When they entered the 600 block of Saint Louis Street , three to five Caucasian males made derogatory comments to the 25-year-old female and her 28-year-old male friend. When the male victim turned towards the group of men, one or more of the suspects struck the victim several times. At some point the female victim fell to the ground and screamed. The suspects then fled on foot. Officers in the area heard the female screaming and responded to the scene and broadcasted a description of the suspects and requested Emergency Medical Paramedics. As the female was waiting for EMS , she used her purse as a pillow. When the victim was in the ambulance, she discovered her purse was missing.
The female was transported to a hospital where she was treated for a broken leg. The male victim was also transported to the hospital and was treated for a mild concussion, fractured jaw and nose.
One of the suspects was described as a Caucasian male who appeared to be dirty, in his 20�s, 6�1� tall, thin build with a thin face. He had a beard and auburn color hair in a pony tail. He was wearing a light color T shirt and dark color pants.
The incident is on-going and detectives are in the process of determining if any surveillance cameras captured the incident.
Investigators are currently working on the incident and at this time the report is not available. Notification will be made to the media when the report is complete and ready for dissemination.
Investigators are in the process of identifying the suspects, as well as a motive. Eighth District Detective Sergeant Nicholas Gernon is in charge of the investigation. Citizens with information that can help solve this crime are asked to call CRIMESTOPPERS at 822-1111, toll-free 1-877-903-STOP(7867). You could receive a cash reward of up to $2,500.00 for information leading to the arrest and indictment of the responsible person(s). You do not have to give your name nor testify to receive the reward.

Some of the photos on that flickr site show the scuffle outside the restaurant. Odds are, the perps are in that crowd.
Granted, most people are honest; but 'it' happens. . .when you least expect it.
Of course, maybe - could happen - her purse will show up. And the tooth fairy. . .oh, no need to go there.
And burn 'em.
At the very least, a reverse amber alert should go out to find this poor child's grandma and get him back there, stat. I've never seen parents less interested in health OR education... and they're marching for it?

Had read just opposite upon 'first read' at another site; probably due to 'first confusion of reports; may be corrected by now; but whatever the case, am assuming this IS the 'reliable' info.
Yes, think this is just the beginning of the 'ugly season' - a 'Zimbabwe season'; if you will; albeit, with debased, radical, Leftist perps of all sizes/colors.
We know they are coordinating their efforts and to what end; planned with a brazen moral turpitude, and executed without Conscience. Their efforts will earn them a wink/nod from all the President's men; and the biggest will come from the President, himself.
(As it well may have come, already, for the protesting rabble in NO; and for their brutality performed against these two innocent victims).
Have not checked this out yet; but, yes. ..a VERY good chance they are there. And more security cameras MUST have been monitoring - you would think, anyway; in as dangerous a place. . .and so picked up the 'rest of the story' as they moved away from Brennan's and on down the street.
It will be interesting to note just how New Orleans handles this investigation. Will they openly disregard or be indifferent, by virtue of victim's political association and/or the color of their skin.
And would like to know, if they have - or do not have - ample security cameras in place on these streets of NO!
The guy in the black/white shirt facing away with the ponytail at the rear of the bicycle is a professional protester. I've seen him protest the tearing down of the old housing projects, on tv when Bush came to town. Always where there's some sort of anti American protest.
The folks in these photos don't look nothing like the students that go to UNO. Just a bunch of anarchist.

I’ve been following the thread and just joining in... that photo of the ponytailed guy hit me earlier before it had been singled out. It fits the best description of the available photos so far, although he can’t be the only ponytailed hippie in the bunch.
I’d think that and any similar photos which surface should be sent on to the hospital and/or authorities to be checked out.
