Denver talk-radio host Peter Boyles interviewed Lietenant Colonel Terrence Lakin’s spokesperson Margaret Hemenway Tuesday, the second day in a row as the “birther” showdown unfolds in Washington. Boyles has admitted he is fascinated by the story of Greeley native Lakin, a decorated 18-year Army medic who refuses to deploy for the second time to Afghanistan because he doesn’t fully believe Pres. Obama is a natural born citizen of the United States. Lakin is the latest and highest ranking of a handful of soldiers who have subscribed to the mostly right-wing theory that Obama has hidden or falsified the usual documents that would prove his citizenship and that he has spent hundreds of thousands of dollars “lawyering up” to protect their secrecy. Boyles, at the very least a semi-believer in the conspiracy himself, clearly admires the man the media is now calling “Colonel Birther.”
“Lakin is risking everything… this guy, he’s hardly a punk, he’s done his [tours of duty] in the past and now he’s willing to call [the president] out on it. He throws it all away. He loses all his benefits and retirement pay and goes to prison for hard labor. It’s not a punk thing by any stretch.”
According to reports, the Army is considering charging Lakin with a host of crimes, including “missing movement,” for not appearing in Fort Campbell Monday as ordered to deploy overseas, and conduct unbecoming an officer. It is highly likely, given the precedent established in related trials, that Lakin will be stripped of his rank and hauled off to the military’s Leavenworth high security prison in Kansas, where he could be sentenced to hard labor for years.

He has never supported a Republican candidate for anything, no matter who the opponent was. He admits it. He is an Obama man, lock, stock, and barrel. Anyone watching his laughingly sychophantic interview of the Prepostor can see that!
BOR himself is a marketing ploy, the purpose of which is to keep white, Catholic men, 35-65, voting Democrat. Perhaps he does it well enough to earn the enormous sums he is paid. "Fair and balanced," is, though, a brilliant marketing trick for BOR, which I am willing to bet is not his idea, because he is extremely ignorant, and perhaps even a bit stupid.
Either way, the man is a Democrat. Ask him. Tim Russert, without the brain.
There is not one officer in a million who would risk everything on principle as this man has done.
History will record those who stood against Obama, the fraud and tyrant, as the brave ones. Those who submitted to this dirt-bag, liar in the White House will always be known as collaborators in tyranny and facilitators in the loss of liberty of the American people.
This isn't about a birth certificate.
This is about a tyrant with no respect for the constitution. He has unconstitutionally asserted powers not granted to the president, the congress or to the federal government by our founding document.
Have you heard Bill bragging about being a teacher when he was younger? Back during Vietnam you'd lose your draft deferment when you finished college. A lot of guys would teach until they were 26 when they were no longer draftable. Bill taught until he got a high lottery number then he got on with his life. When someone of Bill O'Reilly's age talks about being a former teacher that almost always means draft dodger.
The article (like most others) perpetuates the myth that the issue is the province of the “right wing.” It might be now, but it didn’t start out that way. It tracks back to Hillary Clinton supporters during the primaries.

No, this is about a commisioned officer that is refusing an order and depriving troops of his experience as a combat doctor.
Yes, one will take his place. Some other flight surgeon who just did a 15-18 month tour will be told to pack his bags. Or some other flight surgeon who's anxiously waiting to get back to his family will be told he's gotta stick around a while. And whoever is "voluntold" to step up and fill Lakin's spot is a true patriot.
Lakin is weaseling out of his deployment. He's no different than those service members who squirmed away from their commitments due to "Bush's illegal war" and he deserves nothing but contempt and disgust.
For those that would like to listen to Boyles' in the morning, he is usually on the documentgate every morning (mountain time) 5 to 9.
Officers swear an oath to protect and defend the Constitution but not to obey the orders of the president. The enlisted oath contains the Constitution provision plus obey the orders of the president and officers over them. Lt. Col Lakin consideres any orders from obama to be illegal, which I would also agree

Great, just what I need, another talk show host that sounds worth listening to, but I’m already having a hard time keeping up with the ones I already do.
You know what, it never ceases to baffle me how some of my fellow forum participants circle-jerk people on our side, then bitch because we don’t get anywhere.
This guy stands to lose the pension he could have in two years, and all you can think about is his selfish motives.
I don’t care for his bloviating style. I’ve never watched him regularly, although I do catch five or so minutes of his comments every few months. During this time, he always confirms what I have thought about him in-between times.
He’s got my respect, so don’t go bloviating about what he is due or not due. He has put his pension on the line to stand up for something he thinks is right.
Of course I’m certain folks used to carp about our Founding Fathers too, another group that actually gave a damn about our Constitution.
What the hell is wrong with you? I want evidence brought in this case, and if need be taken to the Supreme Court. Nobody else has done it.
Boyles is good and has been around forever. He gets a hold of something and doesn't let it go. He is the main reason that the former ICE-agent Cory Voorhis' story in Colorado hasn't died.

I don't always get to listen to Boyles' and he's definitely more liberal than me on some things, but he's good. On some main things like immigration, guns, and Obama's documents he's right on. He's been touching on the documents deal pretty much every day now.
