Thanks for shedding some light on this. I've been wondering for quite some time what this claim "1/2 the corporations in America don't pay any taxes..." is based on. I hear it quite often, and really haven't heard a good response to it.
It always made me scratch my head a bit, I run a small "C" corp and we always pay taxes in profitable years, as a matter of fact, we always have to pay State Corporate Taxes even if we have NO profit!
THnaks again, sono.
That being said, it makes me cringe when someone on the Conservative side makes incorrect statements like what he said when he was talking to Malkin and the whole "birther" thing came up. Sean said, "I believe that the pre_sent is an American citizen." People don't need to talk about this issue if they do not want to, that is their prerogative. But if you do engage in a discussion on this topic, especially within a public forum (in particular one as large as Sean's), you have an obligation to be clear about the facts. The issue isn't about him being a "citizen" or not, it is whether or not he is in fact a "natural born citizen" that is clearly a requirement for the Presidency of our Nation. (Personally, until I see that there is legitimate proof of this presented to a legitimate authority (e.g., a US court with jurisdiction), I see no reason to believe that it is an NBC.)
Sean and anyone else is certainly entitled to her/his own opinion on the issue, and whether or not they choose to discuss it publicly; but if you do, please be factual and accurate.
