One of the state's largest unions has reached out to police after getting what it considers threatening voicemails at its main office Tuesday night.

The public service employees' union says it doesn't get too many phone calls from the public until it starts airing television ads.

It says its latest "Tax the Rich" ad has prompted more than 1,000 phone calls. For every 10 supportive ones, AFSCME says one is negative. They also say one caller crossed the line.

I read the transcript of the call and it sounds like a standard left wing political activist. The call was tame compared to the left. There was no threat to life or property. The caller simply ingloriously explained that the run away government sector contracts would be over. He chose to use profanity, but the point is legitimate and necessary.
