I just had a very interesting and somewhat confusing conversation with New Orleans Police Department Public Information Officer Bob Young. Mr. Young confirmed to me that the New Orleans police had indeed taken statements from both of the victims, Jindal aide Allee Bautsch and her boyfriend, Joe [Brown]. He confirmed that in those statements, the victims reported that their assailants had indeed hurled “insults” at them, and the “insults” were, and I quote, “of a political nature”.

UPDATE, 1:32 a.m.: And now comes something not altogether unexpected. Daniel Mauch, “francisnblake,” has gone dark. He’s deleted all 21 of his YouTube videos. And he’s made his Facebook page private. Poof – he’s gone.

He posted in the comments below, and I asked him in reply if he knew the identity of “D-Bloc,” the blogger for the Iron Rail Book Collective’s blog who bragged about vandalizing French Quarter banks, and also bragged to Gambit’s Best Of New Orleans Blog about how “rich plutocrats shat themselves” following confrontations with the Iron Rail Gang’s protestors last Friday.

Oh, and by the way – Joanna Dubinsky is gone, too. Her facebook page is history.

The MSM has been too busy reading White House press releases to do any actual digging on this story. However, the good folk over at The Hayride have done some interesting research. They snagged a video of the lefty protest at the Repub Convention just before the attack. The original posters took it down as soon as the heat came on but luckily someone snatched it video first. Very worthwhile read at the source. Once again, the blogosphere smokes the MSM.

Very interesting read. I don’t know the laws in LA concerning concealed carry, but I wouldn’t go down to the FQ without heat unless it is illegal. Being in a restaurant with the Gov there and all they might have been wanding people entering or something, be interesting to know.

I’m too old to fight a bunch of punks. My guardians are Mr. Smith and Mr. Wesson. If somebody broke my woman’s leg and punched me I’d call that aggravated assualt and turn a few 158 grain JHPs loose on ‘em.

It would be nice if Gov Jindal would scream from the rafters and say he will not rest until the thugs are caught, or shot trying to escape.

It was the wrong side doing the beating so of course this is not newsworthy. If you see the pictures of the thug crowd it doesn't spark any fear unless they are in a group, even then a 50 year old male in decent shape should be able to hold his own.

I doubt the law will do anything in LA, so the want a be thugs should not be that hard to find and administer a fair and reasonable beat down.

This altercation was 5 punks on one guy (sorry gals but I don’t count ya’ in the fight). A attack by a gang would certainly constitute deadly force to be used.
