If people have no time to read all the pings lately, please read this one. Please read it carefully. It is packed, there are many sentences, both the author's and quotations from others, that should be added to collections of concentrated truths.
She really hits this one out of the park. The situation we find ourselves in - the descriptions of the evils of which she writes - has accelerated to G force since the election of the Usurper in chief. He has surrounded himself with the foulest of foul, and for some reason, those elected and appointed public sercants who have an "R" next to their names (for the most part) seem to have lost their voices.
Linda Kimball has her voice. Andunless people en masse do something, we will all lose ours.
Note: A change of party in power, or term limits, or a new law or repeal of an old law, will not change what needs to be changed. A spiritual regeneration is the only cure for the spiritual sickness that is the root cause of all these evils. But that doesn't mean that practical work and struggle is useless; it's just that the work in the world has to be fueled by prayer and principles that transcend the political and worldly gauges.
There have been so many articles about the attacks on the Catholic Church that it is impossible to read or post all of them, or even a quarter of them.
This article, while not addressing the details of the subject (who did what when, what was/wasn’t/should/shouldn’t have been done, who was responsible, it’s better now, etc) - gets to the real heart of the matter. Why these attackers hate the Church - because they hate God.
snip: A spiritual regeneration is the only cure for the spiritual sickness that is the root cause of all these evils.
Spirited: Right there, in a nutshell, is the crux of the situation. The early Conservatives came from backgrounds of communism, socialism, and atheism. And as they saw the unfolding evils produced in the name of communism, progressivism, socialism, etc., they all-—like Hallowell-—realized that evil ideas lead to evil deeds.
These early conservatives turned back to God and repented of their sins and then with clear consciences (spiritual regeneration, in your words) were able to go forth and fight the good fight against the forces of evil.
The silence of the Reps mentioned by you is doubtless due to various causes, for instance: fear of being ‘not like the crowd,’ fear of loss of status, lack of moral convictions, apathy, and for many, dirty consciences. Consider for instance, the Rep. Log Cabins-—the ‘gay’ caucus. Their consciences are filthy dirty.
For all too many today, pride (narcissism) is the stumbling block to the desperately needed spiritual regeneration our dreadfully sick, increasingly twisted society needs.
For this reason, I dare say that Kimball’s essay is an affront to many rather than the neon arrow pointing to what is necessary.
Please keep speaking out.
Bears repeating!
I couldn't agree with you more, little jeremiah. Beautifully said!
Thank you so much for your excellent essay/post.
