A man is behind bars after allegedly assaulting an off-duty Easton police captain and his two daughters at Citizens Bank Park.
Capt. Michael Vangelo and his 16- and 11-year-old girls drove down from the Lehigh Valley to watch the Phillies take on the Washington Nationals Wednesday night when the alleged assault occurred, police said.
Vangelo, 43, says from the moment his family took their seats, a group of unruly men starting disturbing anyone near them.
"They were yelling vulgarities, obscene language," Vangelo said Thursday.

Its always sunny in Philadelphia
For the record, the punk was from Jersey.
That city sucks so badly. They’re stuck between DC and NY, wanting to be either and failing miserably. Hard to believe, given it’s present state, it’s the center of our great nation’s founding.
I was going to make a comment about how professional sporting events just aren't as family-friendly as they used to be until I remembered plenty of belligerent drunks at the Broncos games I attended as a youth (particularly when the Raiders were in town).
“Welcome to Philadelphia....oh by the way....YOU SUCK!”
As much of a hole as Detroit is, its a great baseball town.
I shudder to think what would have happened to Detroit in 68, had it not been for the Tigers. Of course, it just delayed the inevitable.
Ummm, that’s what Philly fans do.
Philly fans are the worst in the National League. Us Mets fans aren't surly; we are just under constant suicide watch.
My only problem with going to games at Comerica park (Aside from going to Detroit) is the fact that the police don’t keep the panhandlers and hookers away after the games.
You don’t see them on the way in but you have to fight your way through them on the way out.
This is news like “sun rises in east” is news...
In my experience (at numerous games), two teams from the AL East have the absolute worst fans. We’ve left several games because of outrageous, obnoxious behavior.
It’s not worth going anymore — just buy a big HD TV, and sit back and enjoy the games in comfort.
Some people really, really need to have the crap beat out of them. This fat punk is one of them.
I wonder where Pirate fans would be on the list...the problem is we can't find any.
Last year’s home opener in Toronto was stopped for nearly an hour when someone threw a beer bottle at a Tiger’s outfielder. Leyland pulled the whole team off the field because the outfielder was fixin to throw the bottle back.
I suppose that’s the one good thing about the Rangers stadium being in surburban Arlington, it’s definitely more ‘family friendly.’ No mass transit to the games, steep parking rates, so it tends to keep the bums away.
Still a suburb of Philly.
What does that mean? ........a great baseball town? Your presupposition is that a game with a ball and stick is somehow a redeeming value enough to ignore the collapse of the culture and city of america. Sports are just games... not life ... games.
