Recalling 95 Bombing, Clinton Sees Parallels By CARL HULSE
WASHINGTON With the 15th anniversary of the Oklahoma City bombing approaching, former President Bill Clinton on Thursday drew parallels between the antigovernment tone that preceded that devastating attack and the political tumult of today, saying government critics must be mindful that angry words can stir violent actions.
In advance of a symposium on Friday about the attack on the Oklahoma City federal building and its current relevance, Mr. Clinton, who was in his first term at the time of the bombing, warned that attempts to incite opposition by demonizing the government can provoke responses beyond what political figures intend.
There can be real consequences when what you say animates people who do things you would never do, Mr. Clinton said in an interview, saying that Timothy McVeigh, who carried out the Oklahoma City bombing, and those who assisted him, were profoundly alienated, disconnected people who bought into this militant antigovernment line.
The former president said the potential for stirring a violent response might be even greater now with the reach of the Internet and other common ways of communication that did not exist on April 19, 1995, when the building was struck.
Because of the Internet, there is this vast echo chamber and our advocacy reaches into corners that never would have been possible before, said Mr. Clinton, who said political messages are now able to reach those who are both serious and seriously disturbed. He will be delivering the keynote address Friday at an event about the Oklahoma City attack being sponsored by the Center for American Progress Action Fund and the Democratic Leadership Council.

I remember a lot of people who were questioned by the SS and a lot of people who had the IRS going through their personal and business records. And I remember how much it cost a lot of people, personally. The clintons were using tactics straight out of the Soviet Union and Communist
China. I also remember a lot of people (51, I think) who lost their lives, some were body guards. Interesting how all these people died, one even committed suicide by shooting themselves in the back of the head with a rifle.
Bill, just go back to shtupping chicks who are young enough to be your granddaughter, OK?
“I don’t regret setting bombs,” Bill Ayers said. “I feel we didn’t do enough.”

Um, the (lack of) justice dept under Clinton never was interested in pursuing finding John Doe #2.
What a MORON...so Captain "Pardon Your Pals" is saying that if/when some looney-toon like McVeigh whacks a bunch of people, it's OUR FAULT. Crafty little bastards, those left-wingers! New T-shirt: FUBC.
If only he had paid as much attention to the first world trade center bombing.
Paradoxical, isn't it? While he contemptiously tries to draw comparisons between McVie and the Tea Party, and warns that angry words can stir anti-government violence, he reveals himself to be an angry ex-President trying to stir government violence against the Tea Party with his own vitriol.
When they try to tell you who you are they're just revealing who they are.
The Tea Party movement is shaking the pillars of liberalism and liberals are scared to death of it. They know it represents the beginning of the end of their reign, and they will do whatever it takes to destroy the movement, even trying to stir violence against its members. I know these people in power won't stop with just words, they're going to get as violent as possible, and they're going to justify that violence by claiming the Tea Party is dangerous to America. That's what all this anti-Tea Party rhetoric is about, they're preparing the way to justify their future actions. Watch.
Yes, I was a little slow to recall that one but I was trying to. Been a much longer and hectic day than usual.
He has NO ROOM to speak.
No problem.
Rush just had a great point about this shrill shriek from PIAPS from 2003...she sounded more angry in that statement (and many others) than ANY one from the Tea Parties.
Maybe Clinton should look at the root causes. Libs always want to when people attack the US. What could the US have possibly done to outrage Timothy McVeigh? (as an aside, I still believe there were other actors in that atrocity, but we’ll probably never know now).
Living in OKC at the time, the local news kept going on for hours about a “green pick-up with arab looking men in it and was last seen in Texas” then nothing.
The picture they showed at the trial for McVeigh was a picture of the rental truck with the sun glaring off the side window and you could not see anyone inside the cab, even McVeigh.
I’m sure the two that were prosecuted were involved but there are more that slipped away due to the Clinton Justice Dept.

Well, I am not a socialist and I am not Timothy McVeigh.
