Rick Santorum Endorsement: Trey Grayson is the only 100% pro-life candidate in this race
GOP Mom ^

Trey Grayson has received a very powerful endorsement from Rick Santorum, pro-life former Senator from Pennsylvania. I personally most remember Rick Santorum for his famous exchange with Senator Barbara Boxer regarding the right to life.  Please read that here.  His endorsement of Trey Grayson is below.

Louisville, Kentucky – Former Pennsylvania Senator Rick Santorum announced today that he is endorsing Kentucky Secretary of State Trey Grayson in the Republican primary for U.S. Senate.  Santorum is in Kentucky to speak at the 40th anniversary dinner for Kentucky Right to Life.

"Trey Grayson is the only 100% pro-life candidate in this race.  I’ve looked at the records and past statements of both candidates on the issue of protecting life, and I’m impressed with Grayson’s conviction and sincerity,” said Santorum.

He continued, “And on other issues, too, Trey Grayson has a solidly conservative record.  As Secretary of State he has cut his budget by 15%.  That’s the kind of fiscal conservatism we need in Washington.  Trey has a record, not just rhetoric on fiscal responsibility.”

Grayson commented, “It means a lot to me that Senator Santorum would endorse my campaign.  I’m thrilled to have his support.  If I’m elected I will be a conservative voice for Kentucky whose views match our state and whose principles don’t change for the sake of political expediency.”

Santorum will appear on the Terry Meiners Show and The Pulse of Lexington with Leland Conway today to discuss Grayson’s candidacy and his endorsement.
Rand Paul has recently claimed to be pro-life, but in contrast to Trey Grayson, he has a long record of advocating pro-choice positions.

Thanks, I only played a couple of minutes, I know how weird Kokesh is, I just wanted to know if Rand Paul had actually endorsed him.

It’s called discernment. Just because Dick Cheney endorsed KBH did that dingbat beat fellow RINO Slick Perry? Just because John Cornyn and crew at the NRSC endorsed Charlie Loafers in Florida is that going to help him beat Rubio? Just because Newt Gingrich endorsed Scozzafava did that make her a winner?

Powerful? The guy couldn’t even reelection. Serves him right for endorsing Specter.

The liberty movement is lucky to have Adam Kokesh.

Fearless, not afraid of Big Government, Adam stands for the individual.

Adam remembers not only the sacrifice of our forefathers but the ideas they stood for.

I wish Adam Kokesh the best of luck.

So you think the Pauls’ support for and endorsement of Kokesh will have no impact on the race?

Did Cheney’s help KBH? Will the GOP Establsihment’s help RINO Trey? Will McCain’s help Charlie Loafers?

All high profile races where the other candiates all had other high-profile endorsements. Not at all the case in NM-3.

And that says nothing of the fact that Kokesh is a truther and an anti-war leftist joined at the hip with Code Pink. That speaks to either the Pauls’ judgement, or their intent... unless you refuse to question them on anything, then it speaks to nothing at all.

Probably, he has a hard fight.. the third parties have supported Paul, plus all the paultards, plus the codepinkos and MoveOn people all in Paul’s boat.

And Sarah Palin. And Jim Bunning. And the Kentucky tea party. And Steve Forbes. And the Republican Liberty Caucus. And Downsize D.C. And the Tea Party Express. And the Gun Owners of America...

And, most importantly, Kentucky registered Republicans; especially the self-described "conservative republican" ones.

So you think the Pauls’ support for and endorsement sitting next to Kokesh will have no impact on the race?

If you mean, specifically, will a year-old video (June 2009) where Paul and Kokesh discuss their distrust of government and wanting to shrink it and a "leave me alone coalition" and reigning in the Federal Reserve and make no mention of foreign policy, well, I think we already have our answer:

A whole year ago... whoa. Was Adam Kokesh more or less of a Code Pink truther way back then?

And what of the Paul endorsement on Kokesh’s website?

Never mind that. Post some more polls, Spam Monkey. That’s pretty much all you’ve done since you signed up.

Rick Santorum is “powerful endorsement”? Who knew?

He's not really. The author of this piece, Lisa Graas, is a known crazy lady welfare-recipent who was personally called up by Grayson himself to shill for his candidacy on her blog.

I don’t get the Kokesh obsession. He’s a (nasty little) fringe candidate that won’t get out of his primary.

Democrats will tie Kokesh around Rand Paul's neck in the general. They will make sure every vet, everyone on active duty, everyone in rural military-supporting Kentucky thinks of Kokesh and Code Pink when they think "Rand Paul". Paul has nuanced himself away from Kokesh but just two days ago Kokesh put up a video boasting about Rand Paul supporting him. I see liberal trolls posting it on other forums already.

Every Rand Paul thread I see, I’ll do everything I can to turn into a thread about Adam Kokesh. Every one.

If you go strictly by Grayson’s and Paul’s stated positions, Santorum is correct, as far as I know.

From what I’ve seen Grayson has in recent months modeled his stated positions after Bill Johnson, who unfortunately has withdrawn from the race.

In my opinion, there is more than a little reason to doubt Grayson’s sincerity on these positions, however.

Having said that, Rand Paul has clearly laid out a pro-choice for states, anti-unalienable rights, anti-Fourteenth Amendment, anti-Reagan pro-life platform, position, identical to his father’s. Personally, I will never again offer an ounce of support of any kind to those who spout this destructive, unconstitutional, nonsense.

This is not an endorsement of Trey Grayson, it’s simply a statement of the situation as I know it.
